As a young woman preparing to enter the field as a Forensic Chemist, is there any specific obstacles I will face due to gender in this field?
I am a young woman looking into becoming a Forensic Chemist, and I have not researched enough about the topic to know if it was predominantly male or female. So my question here is there any specific obstacles I will face due to gender in this field? Will some situations be tougher to deal with? Or will there even be any advantages or disadvantages to being a woman in the Forensic Chemistry field? #chemistry #forensic
Which forensic science related job would be best for me based on my interests?
With a forensic science major, I intend to work with trace evidence, but I can't determine which job would allow me to do so. I know of Forensic Anthropologists, Blood Splatter Technicians, Entomologists, etc. but I don't know which of these (and the rest) I would need to work as to be able to collect and work with actual evidence from crime scenes. I suppose my real question is, what is a list of possible jobs (in forensic science) that would allow me to work with evidence? I've searched for an answer, but I keep getting different responses, so I'm hoping someone qualified and knowledgeable can help me figure out what it is that I really want to do. If more information is needed, I will say that I wouldn't mind working with fingerprints, blood, fibers, fluids, and any other evidence. I know I can rule out the DNA matching and toxicology since that is more chemistry related (I prefer biology), but as for information on the others, any help is appreciated. #career #science #biology #career-paths #forensic #stem #women-in-stem #crime-scene-investigator

How does a forensic scientist deal with the emotional aspects of the job?
I intend to pursue forensic science, and I'm leaning toward lab work primarily instead of investigating crime scenes. Given that I will be assisting with solving cases involving people who have been assaulted or murdered, I'd like to know how the emotional response to other humans being hurt or killed affect a forensic scientist on a regular basis. #forensic

What career should I choose? Police or Doctor?
I LOVE forensic science, I love investigating, analyzing fingerprints etc. but at the same time I want to be a doctor which is pediatrician. My mom doesn't want me to be a police because its dangerous I keep on telling her I'll be fine. I could risk my life on things that are worth saving. I also love to be a doctor because I want to help children and give smiles to them. I ask some of my family members and they said it is possible to be a police then doctor. Or doctor then police .. is that true? I'm a freshman anyway. #doctor #pediatrics #forensic #computer-forensics

I wanted to know if I can have a career in forensics with biotechnology?
I have completed my undergraduate studies in Biotechnology. My project work was based on the medicinal and molecular properties of local algae. Since I was in college, I was always fascinated with forensics, however I have not been able to study it at university because we didn't have it in my country. That would be nice if I could get some valuable advice so that I can advance in my career path. Thanks. #forensic #scientist #marine #life-sciences

What is a forensic psychologist?
I've been trying to look it up, but basically everything I find is written in a more professional manner/harder vocabulary words in which I don't understand. If you could please explain it to me in a way easier for high school students to interpret I would be highly thankful. #medicine #law #forensic #forensic-psychology
