If you had six months of free time between college graduation and your first job, what would you do during it?

Right now I have the great opportunity of having the months between January and June completely free as I allocated this time to travel and explore between college graduation and my first job. However, travel is looking unlikely due to the pandemic. I'd like to try and find a few things to do that are either helpful for professional/personal development, meaningful or fulfilling, or something generally interesting (something with social capital). Right now, I'm looking at doing some bike trips, reading a book a week, taking cooking classes, and finding some volunteer opportunities. Just trying to brainstorm ideas, and I'd love to hear what you would do if you were in my shoes! Other interests: investing, entrepreneurship, book recommendations! #gapyear #gapsemester #postcollege

Do you recommend taking a gap year?

Although I do want to go to college and get a degree, I have seen many articles where people have taken a gap year to fix their health or to raise enough money for college and I was wondering if I should plan to do the same. #career-choice #career-path #JULY20 #gapyear #break

How to make the most out of my Gap Year?

I am a junior pre-med student and plan on taking 1 Gap Year. I have already taken my MCAT and don't feel like I need to retake it. I also have experienced research throughout college and don't have the passion to continue with that. I am a finance major and am considering using that degree to apply to some jobs in the non-profit sector so I can work and relax for a year. Thoughts? #college #premed #medicine #gapyear #nonprofit #medical

Applying for Scholarships

I am a 2018 high school graduate on a gap year. I am using my time away from school to apply for more aid and really getting to myself as well. As I try to find scholarships, I notice most are for those who are seniors in high school and graduating in 2019. I have gotten lucky with some, emailing them to let them know my situation. Where can I find scholarships for gap year students? For students who plan to enroll in college in the fall of 2019 but are not in high school? Are there any scholarships for students in online college? Because this is my case as well. #scholarship #financial-aid #college #gapyear #online #geneds

Self Discipline and Motivation

I’m going to begin #onlinecourses in a few days and I’m not sure how I will stay on top of them. I have to get through 20 courses within the next 12 months, and have 8 weeks to complete each course. My question is, how do I stay on top of the work and receive good marks? #motivation #onlinecollege #gapyear #accelerated #college

What is the most challenging aspect to opening your own business?

I've graduated high school a year early and I am ready to make my dream come true. I've had a vision of a coffee shop that is truly unique compared to others I've seen. After my gap year, I plan on getting my associates in business, then proceeding to fulfill my dream. I have so many questions and would love some insight from someone who has been in my position before; they don't know what to do now, who to talk to, what to study, etc.. I would appreciate some insight! Much thanks! #business #coffeeshop #businesswoman #gapyear #businessmanagement

Is it better to take time off right out of college?

What are your thoughts on this? A lot of people have asked me if I am going to take a gap year or go backpacking for a few months. I'd like to know if there is a way to make this travel experience relevant to PR and maybe find a way to use it as a work experience type of thing. Thoughts? #PR #Traveling #gapyear #graduating I'd like to hear from someone who took time off and what they feel they gained from it. It may also be helpful to hear from someone who didn't and why they think that is the best choice. Also, if someone could provide ideas for how to make traveling a work experience type of thing, that would be helpful as well.
