What are the most important factors to consider when applying to grad school?

I would like to go to graduate school for either biology or chemistry (I have not decided yet), but I don't know what my focus should be for my applications over the next few years. I know every school will weight certain aspects differently, but overall should I be more concerned about GRE test scores? My undergraduate GPA? Research experience? Course-work? Essays? What would be most important to ace when sending in applications? How can I go about preparing myself for doing well on these parts of my application? #graduate-school #school #college #biology #chemistry

What are your best strategies for pursuing an advanced degree and working at the same time?

I am interested in going back to grad school, but I am focused on my career path. At this point, it seems advantageous to continue developing my career experience, but soon I will need an advanced degree to continue my growth. Am I going to still get a meaningful master's degree experience with the online, accelerated master's degrees for professionals? Is it possible to work full time while getting a masters? Can I run a small side business without compromising my academic experience? #career-path #graduate-school #masters

What should a pre-law student pursue in his/her undergraduate to bolster law school prospects?

Ex's: studying for LSAT continuously, joining any pre-law organizations, meeting with law professors, meeting with lawyers, building a network, interning at appropriate organizations, etc. I am not sure which of these activities is worth while whereas others might just be a waste of time or a fulfillment of my "preparation mindset" for law school without any actual benefits. Thanks! Carson #law #pre-law #law-school #government #study #politics #graduate-school P.S. I will be attending Yale University in the fall, enabling me to take some cross-over classes with the law school if that is relevant at all.

What are some good ways to get funding for an MPH program and study abroad programs?

I will be starting my MPH in epidemiology in the fall and I do not have much money. My entire education has been self funded. I am very interested in being a field epidemiologist and do more hands on work. I have seen some great summer programs where students can go to developing countries and help with relief efforts. The only set back is that I don't have the money to pay out of pocket for these trips. I really want to help as much as I can. I already volunteer at two local agencies and I am with a public health group on campus. What are some ways to get funding in order to travel abroad, and are there study abroad programs for Masters of Public Health students? Thanks! #epidemiology #public-health #mph #graduate-school #masters-degree
