HELP! Which is better: UCONN or MCPHS?

I'm currently a high school senior amidst the college application/decision process. As of right now, my top 2 schools include University of Connecticut and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. I understand that both schools are vastly different from one another but there are attributes to each that I admire. Uconn has all the extracurriculars I've been interested in being involved in (fencing club and bollywood fusion dance team) and it is closer to home. MCPHS on the other hand is much smaller and therefor will probably cater better to each student. It's also in a more urban setting. The plan is to go to medical school after my 4 years of undergrad. Although MCPHS is geared towards the healthcare field, I've read many articles that it is ultimately not a good school. I'm just really confused on how to proceed as I want to make the right decision in ensuring my future-in-medicine path. Any advice is helpful! Thank you :)

What is the hardest thing about being a labor and delivery nurse or or any nurse in general.

Ive always had this career in the back of my head but never really thought about it until I started reasearching more about it. I have always liked the idea with working with babies even tho that is not what nurses do all the time but just the idea of being around them sometimes sounds like the ideal job. Helping mothers too who are in labor or just helping people in general.

How can I find a reliable part-time remote job?

I'm currently working full-time in a medical office, but need to make extra income to support myself and my 2.5 year old daughter as I'm a single parent. I'm interested in remote work opportunities so I could potentially work evenings and/or weekends. I've completed 3 years of university and one semester of nursing school, but unfortunately don't have a degree. I have a strong background in healthcare as having worked in the emergency department in a hospital in the Houston Medical District amongst other jobs and I also have extensive knowledge of computer applications.

Is kinesiology or child development better for a high school student looking into medicine?

I'm selecting my 9th grade classes. I have no idea if other schools do this, but we have to create a "career plan" and select classes for all four years of high school. Between the classes of kinesiology (my high school's course catalog defines it as studying the effects of exercise on the body and studying skeletal, muscular, and neural movements) and child development (working with and talking to young children, earning CPR and first aid qualifications along the way), which is better if I would like to become a premed student in college? I specifically am interested in orthopedics or becoming a surgeon.

Are new grad nurses prepared to know how to work in their environment?

Im a senior in high school and want to go into nursing. Today, for the first time, with no previous experiences, I shadowed an ICU nurse. It was a cool experience but scary with how much knowledge of machines, technology and charting you have to know how to work? I was truly wondering if any nurses out there can reassure how they feel about that when they were a new grad? Does nursing school truly prepare you for the experience of what to do and how to not bye lost? It just seemed like A LOT!

Are doctors really earning less?

It's been a good while since I asked my last question. I am now almost done with my A levels and will hopefully be in medical school for my MBBS degree next year. While I am not pursuing medicine for the pay, but rather because it is a true passion of mine and something I would be delighted to do for the rest of my life, I've always considered the high wage as somewhat of compensation for all the sacrifices doctors make. Weekends and youth spent studying instead of partying, and adulthood spent in incredibly stressful situations, literally holding the life of others in our palms, the extra cash seemed deserved. But recently I am hearing of doctors in the West being overworked and underpaid, and the NHS crumbling as patient management is outsourced to clerks with insufficient medical training. If there is anyone who works as a professional doctor or surgeon in a hospital, please do feel free to share your experience in your workplace- whether to confirm or dispel the rumour. It would be of major help to a med student just starting out. Of course, I feel obliged to say that even if I would be getting paid lower, I won't change my mind. I feel that servicing others through medicine is the best thing I can do with my life, and I would be glad to. Thank you!
