Why are counselors important when it comes to mental health?
My dream career is to be a mental health counselor. Mental health counselors talk to a patient and get to know the person, they do this so they can give advice or feedback that relates more to the patient and their struggles. Speaking from personal experience I have found that counseling does work when you let it and find the right person for you. Once you find the right counselor it's easier for you to talk about things and easier for you to start working on yourself and your struggles. I did counseling for 3 years straight and switched through a bunch of medications until I finally let counseling help me and started taking the things my counselor told me to heart, he told me to start finding things I enjoyed and using them as a release for my darkness that I battle with, and I'm proud to say I have done these things and I'm doing better than I have been in a long time. Mental health counselors can save lives.

Law or medicine?
I don’t know what to do as I love the debating side of law for justice (which I absolutely enjoy and is a natural talent for me) but I love medicine as I am always interested in helping out any family members or anyone out if they are in pain. For instance, my mum has really bad lower back pain and, due to some dancer knowledge I have, I gave her some stretches to do and it worked better than the physio she went through. I enjoy medicine a lot but the off putting thing about it is the number of years to study it. I want to be an actress and model on the side so I’m worried if being a doctor won’t give me the same freedoms a freelance lawyer might. Please advise :)
