I have all these questions, can you help me?

Why is it important to not use the exact same words on your resume, especially for different jobs you're applying to? and what would be the best way to keep searching for jobs after not getting hired for the first few times? What are some things to remember when being approached by an issue your boss has with your efforts? When putting in effort to satisfy your boss and the company, is it also important to make sure it's fulfilling you as well? How would you know if you've found a job that approaches not only the company's qualifications but also your own? (ex. time management, distance, pay, etc)

How long after orientation will I start work?

I went to orientation on May 22nd for the local amusement park. It wasn't a one on one training. We went over the rules for 2 hours and then tried on our uniforms. After I showed my HR person that my uniform fit she said I could go home. It is now May 28th and she hasn't called. I still have my uniform and ID badge but haven't started work or any kind of other training at all! The HR told me that it was required to go to a 7 day probation orientation period were if we miss a day then we get fired. She never told me when I had to be back, no dates or times, not even a "see you tomorrow." I am really getting worried now! What should I do? I was on will call before if that helps. #human-resources #manager #hiring #employers #teenagers #emergency

Is there anyway to have hired work hands long term in construction?

My dad has been a finishing carpenter for many many years and has his own company. He has many connections and knows lots of people in the construction industry. When he gets big jobs he struggles to finish all by himself because the help hands he hires will come and go all the time. Max they stick around is two weeks.

I have no work experience! How can I acquire a job?

It's time to pull my own weight, yikes! Recently I applied to various famous franchises online, the only problem is, they never responded :( . With no success online I decided to visit a "now hiring" good ol' McD's and ask for an application. I completed the application and returned it to a manager. After waiting for a couple weeks, still no response. I even went back to the McDonald's, gave them a hello, and "showed initiative" as my mom suggested. Still without response I feel quite discouraged (a big no no in the job hunting process). I've been told getting a minimum wage job for a kid like me would not require a resume, but I feel like it may be necessary to create one in order to land a job since I have no work experience (but plenty of volunteerism and extra curricular commitment!). Any tips for creating a resume? Whats the best way to go about landing a job? How did *you* land your first job? #resume #hiring #first-job

When you're fresh out of college is it best to work for a while, travel, or go straight to Grad school?

I'm curious about the current state of the job market as it pertains to the hiring rate of students fresh out of college with their first Bachelor's degree. Do most employers favor new grads who've worked while in school? If so, how do students who have little work experience due to being committed full-time to their education go out and get jobs after graduating? Also, from the perspective of grad schools, do they prefer students fresh out of undergrad or is it best to work for a year or two before applying to grad schools so your resume is more substantial? Do they care about your resume or just your academic track record? #graduate-school #college-admissions #job-search #college-jobs #recruiting #hiring #employment #job-market #job-application
