What is the difference between cyber security and forensic technology? Or are they the same thing?

I really love programming and information technology and I want to develop my skills even further. I also love science and problem solving so I think that cyber security or forensic technology would both be interesting careers for me. Are there other options? And are there any courses, colleges, universities, or majors anyone can recommend for me? #information-technology #forensics #programming #technology #cyber-security #science #coding #computer-science

Can someone offer me some insight into Management Information Systems (MIS)?

I was looking at some possible fields that I want to major in and MIS seemed very compelling. I heard it's a mix of technology and business and wanted to learn some more about it. Could someone tell me what exactly a person in the field might do with an MIS degree? Also, which areas would MIS focus on (perhaps math, science, technology, communication)? Any additional information would be graciously appreciated! #mis #information-technology #technology

For computer scientists, what does your work day look like, how does it impact other fields and the environment, and what were some education?

Hello I was wondering if someone could answer some questions I have for a school assignment pertaining to post-secondary opportunities in the field of computer science. I would really appreciate it if someone provided some answers to the following questions: -What does a typical day look like for you? -How do you believe their field of work impacts the environment (i.e. e-waste generation, lowering usage of resources, etc.)? What about other industries? -What schooling did they complete in order to do your job? Were there any special skills you needed? Once again I would really appreciate it if you answered these questions. Thank you in advance #technology #computer-science #computer-software #information-technology

I work for AT&T in retail now, how can i transition to AT&T in IT?

I'm a college senior who is expected to graduate from the Information Technology program in may 2018 and currently I'm an intern as a data quality analyst. I love working for AT&T but i feel like i may have to look else where to get a start in my IT adventure, does anyone have any recommendations on how i can further my journey with AT&T(IT)? I would imagine that AT&T would want to keep an employee of 5 years and studies show that employees that stay longer with a company tend to give more time and effort to that company. Im also looking for a mentor in IT! #information-technology #internships #loyalty #att #retail #big-data #college #graduate #career-transition #mentor #search

Does doing double major in tech academy at High School worth it?

I am a Junior in H.S. right now i am thinking about doing a double major in my tech academy, they have a guaranteed internship if you do this. But i am thinking if its worth it. Two tech classes back to back for the whole senior year. I take college classes at my nearest community college, so i know for a fact that i don't have soo much time to give to something that will not gonna help me or its worth it. #information-technology #majoring #technology #internship #time #high-school

Why is trade school so taboo in the US?

In Germany, it is completely normal for students that have graduated school to go directly into a trade school instead of college; in fact, students can learn to be in IT through hands-on learning. In the US, most are encouraged to attend college for four or so years to get a degree before actually seeing the realities of the career they're entering, and vocational schools are scoffed at, even though they can be sometimes even better at preparing students to work. Can anybody who has been in vocational school or traditional university (or both) explain what disadvantages there may be to trade school that have built up this cultural attitude? I'm intrigued to see if it may be more worthy to save money from a college route and embark on an experience-based journey to a life-long career. #trade-school #vocational-school #tech #science #information-technology #foreign #save-money #university #united-states
