Do the grades I get in college matter as much as they do in high school?

I try to get good grades in high school because it matters a lot to get into college. Is the same true for grades in college courses to get a job? Does it depend on the job I want to get? #college #human-resources #interviews #interviewing

How can I get job interviews consistently?

I’ve been trying to find my first job for a very long time. I already customize every resume to each job application that I submit. Even though I am looking for my first job, I do have substantial volunteer experience (5 years). I know that job searching is a numbers game, but it doesn’t make sense to me to submit 500 applications for only one to advance me to the interview stage – I’d rather focus my time and energy on crafting my application to get to the interview every time or most of the time. Is there anything I can do to increase my odds of getting a job interview and/or get feedback on why I’m not being considered?

Hello! My name is Henry and I am a current high school student, I'm conducting an interview with any professionals in the optometrist field for a Foundations in Health Science class project about careers! I have created a total of 13 questions. Comment on this post, answering all 13 questions to be a part of my assignment. 1. Why did you choose to be an optometrist? 2. How many years of college did you need to go through? 3. What jobs did you work before you landed your current professional job? 4. How can I decide to earn a Ph.D. in this field? 5. Were you in a college program? 6. Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later date? 7. Did you shadow another professional in the field? 8. Did you join any school clubs related to your current profession? 9. Was there a particulate subject that you struggled with during your school years? 10. What skillsets did you learn or gain while pursuing your career? 11. Do you feel like all the hard work is paying off, or has paid off? 12. What are some obstacles that you faced along the way? 13. What would you like for people to know about this career?

What are some tips you can give to someone who is job interviewing and the person who is doing your interview is two times younger then you and you sense that the age difference is not an issue for you but seems to make the interviewer uncomfortable?

I have been within the work force for some time; 30 years to be exact; I am running into interviewers that are younger and find themselves thrown by interviewing me. The 80/20 rule of interviewing goes out the window and they seem to do all the talking like they are the ones selling themselves. I want to find a way to put them at ease and show them I might be older however there is a great deal I can learn and that I want to do just that. #learningeverstops #interviewing #workforce #80/20rule #tips #atease

What is the best way to prepare for an interview?

Honestly, I have not been on many interviews within my lifetime. However, during my Principles of Professional Psych course at Kean University my class as a whole had to do a one on one brief interview with the professor in front of the entire class. The professor asked us a numerous amount of questions regarding our positions in which were applying for. I am just a little curious to know if this is very similar applying to the real world. I have experienced a few number of interviews at places such as Trinity Solar whereas it was not even a "real" interview. I walked in, took a seat, and was read my duties as to what I would be doing. I immediately was hired on the spot. No questions were asked regarding my background and why I was even there. This was so bizarre to me. Some feedback, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. #interviews #interviewing-skills #interviewing #interview-preparation #personal-development

What should you include in your resume if you're a student with little experience/ skills?

Looking to develop a resume that is effective and stands out, but I'm a high school student without much experience or skills. Are there any things you can include that someone reviewing your resume would find useful to know? Does the fact that I volunteer as a teacher assistant or that I'm oldest to 5 children make any difference? Would really appreciate guidance! #resume #resume-writing #resumes #evaluating-resumes #experience #interviewing-skills #interview #interviews #interviewing #interview-preparation #writing

What does a technical interview entail?

I've made it past the first round of interviews for a research lab I'm interested in, and the next step is for a PI to reach out to schedule a technical interview. I have no idea what a technical interview is, or how to prepare! I'm a physics student and would be working in acoustics or signal processing if that's helpful. #physics #interviewing #research #research-lab #internship #technical-interview #applications #interviews #acoustics #signal-processing #data-science
