How can I start my real estate career at 16?
I’m a high schooler maintaining a 4.0 GPA and I’m graduating in the fall, Im so confused on where to start my journey in real estate because of my age. Many have told me to slow down and wait till i’m 18 to get my license but then I see all these young entrepreneurs online investing in real estate and building businesses, Ive found myself in a confusing position so I’m reaching out on different platforms to see other people’s perspectives/tips on starting real estate young and how to start at my age.

what are some investment banking/finance-related opportunities?
I currently study finance at Taylor University, Malaysia. And am interested in investing, banking, finance, economics, and how money works. I was looking for opportunities to work in a related sector such as investment banking or banks in general. Still, I want to know which countries have such opportunities in the finance sector and have demand for it, which can provide a good experience and ability to grow. I know generally that the US is the best option but there is too much competition at the moment so Im searching for the less competitive markets for ex: Europe, Canada, or Arabic countries? Besides that, I wanted to know what courses or work experience I should take during my studies to improve my resume and make me highly qualified in this field.

Does a career in Sales and Trading allow for a natural transition to investment management/buy side?
Accepted a sales and trading internship and I am interested in investment management/ portfolio management long-term. Does S&T set you up well to jump to the buy side? I partially accepted the internship because I thought the exposure to institutional investors would help me make the leap, but it seems like a lot of S&T professionals stay in the field their whole careers.
Seeking insights on Sales and Trading internships and full-time roles?
Hi everyone! I am a rising junior and recently accepted a 2024 Sales and Trading internship in New York. My offer letter said I would be working with the equities group but beyond that, I am going in blind. I have several questions that I would really appreciate some insight on: -As I shadow and rotate among the desks, how will the bank determine whether I will be a trader or on the sales side, and what desk I would be on if given a return offer? Is one role or desk better relatively speaking? -My impression of S&T may be slightly outdated, but is the role at high risk for automation and AI? This is the only thing I can think about in my current internship because everything seems to be easily automatable. -I am very interested in investment management and my long-term goal is to work in portfolio management. Does S&T set you up well to transition to the buy side? I partially accepted the internship because I thought the exposure to institutional investors would help me make the leap, but it seems like a lot of S&T professionals stay in the field their whole careers. -Finally, I am really interested in ESG issues and impact investing, will I be able to explore this evolving theme in an S&T role? Thanks in advance for any perspectives you can provide!
