What website is best to learn coding (Javascript, iOS, Unity)?

As a sort of follow up to my last question (https://careervillage.org/questions/12629/what-all-do-you-need-to-do-and-have-to-be-a-computer-and-program-designer), I am currently using a website called Code School (https://codeschool.com/), but I want to know if that is a good website. It teaches Ruby, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, iOS, Git, and Database(SQL and No-SQL). are their any other I could do in partner to that, or should I ditch Code School and do something different. If you could also post a link in your question that would be nice. Thank you so much! #coding #ios #javascript #html #css #ruby

What's the one thing you would do differently if you could travel back in time to where you started your career / coding journey?

As a self-taught web developer, at some point during my coding journey, I got distracted and switched to a different language just out of curiosity. (switch from JavaScript to Python). Three months later, I realized that Python or Data science isn't really my thing. (I definitely see the beauty and power of Python!) However, I love JavaScript or Front-end web development more than extracting insights from data set. So for me, I would definitely tell myself to FOCUS on one language if I could travel back in time. 1. What about you? 2. What kind of advice would you give yourself if life can rewind and replay? I'm asking this question because it allows me learn valuable lessons / insights from others' story! (If you don't mind sharing!) As always, Thank you for your time in reading this post and sharing your story! I wish you all the best & take care of yourself! #career #business #coding #professional #timeTravel #Focus #programming #webdevelopment #python #javascript #careerguidance #education #Learning #careeradvice #careerchoices #technology

What do I need to do to become a software developer?

I'm a high school junior who has been passionate about technology in general, not just coding, since I was around the age of 6 or 7 years old. Unfortunately, my school doesn't offer any career-related classes but a short intro to computer science, so I'm not sure what steps I need to take to become a software developer or get started in the tech field. What kind of degree or training is required to enter the tech field, and what are some alternative ways to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed? What are the different paths to becoming a software developer, and what kind of roles and/or responsibilities can I expect in this field? Any advice from professionals or other enthusiasts would be greatly appreciated.

What are the best ways to prepare for interviews with top-tier management consulting firms McKinsey, Bain, BCG, mainly.?

Looking for both prep tips on the "case" questions, those puzzlers like "How many shaving razors are sold in the U.S. every year," and any personality "fit" questions. If there are any books or web resources, all the better. #interviews #consulting #mckinsey #bain #bcg

How do I get started in the tech industry coming from an unrelated field Are there any real pay to learn opportunities??

For the better part of a year I have been learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, and Swift. I am still relatively novice but Im learning quickly. The trouble is that I cant dedicate enough time to truly practice my skills because I am too busy at my other job. I am in a position in my life to be able to make the jump into tech at an entry level or lower job position if need be. Meaning I dont need a high paying position, I just need something to get my resume started and allow me to focus more time on building my portfolio. I have a background in Construction management and experience in industry standard computer programs like Excel, Word, Outlook, and various CRM tools. Are there any job titles that I can look for that will allow me to get my tech career started with what experience I have?
