How important is choosing a minor for political science?

I am a senior in high school planning on majoring in political science to possibly obtain a combined BA in Political Science with a Master's in Public Administration. I want to choose a minor that is highly employable but I am unsure which course to take. I love history and philosophy but I am not sure that those minors would be as useful as a minor in journalism or some type of economics or marketing. I also really like statistics but I do not think my college offers a minor in statistics. Overall, how important is choosing a minor? Do employers really look at them? #college #career #journalism #economics #college-minor #history #political-science

Hi all! I am a student studying on the field about language. Recently, I have found out that I am not really enjoy on the things that I am studying. Why is journalism dying and what are the skills of a competent journalist?

There are some great journalists who work for The Atlantic, The New York Times, and other sources. I was talking to a friend the other day about potential careers and she said I may be a journalist. She thinks that we need GOOD journalists; not just people who write about pop culture. I do agree with that. Journalism is dying because of the internet but how can we bring it back? Journalists have guts and make the INVISIBLE, VISIBLE. This is a good example: https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/09/amtrak-conductor/499664/ "You just learn so much from people in general by working the train. The railroad is kind of like a microcosm of society."~David Pryor. A unique perspective of how someone views a railroad... When deciding where to go to college how important is it to access location?

The main reason I ask this question is because I am an aspiring entertainment journalist and I would like to know if it is helpful to go to college in a place like Boston or New York, or if it really doesn't matter as long as I am getting a good education. Being from Eastern Washington I see great value in moving somewhere with better job opportunity than where I currently am. #college #journalism #communications #entertainment-industry #location

If you've ever doubted your ability to do great in your dream career, does that mean that you're not cut out for it or is that completely normal?

I had a bad experience with a terrible former employer who used to belittle me and downplay my work ethic. After that experience, I spent a month reflecting, wondering if I was indeed bad at my job. While I no longer believe the awful things she said to me, sometimes I look back and wonder if I'm weak because I considered myself inferior at one point. #internships #journalism #communications #writing #editing #public-relations
