Majors alike oceanography, and where to find them.

I am a rising senior and am interested in oceanography. I have not been able to find many colleges that have this major. Should I look outside of the U.S.? Or is there another major that I should use in my search? I am leaning more toward the chemical side, but also want to look into the geological and biological side of it. #oceanography #july20

How close is Brooklyn-99 to the real NYPD?

Ok, dumb question, but is Brooklyn-99 anything similar to actually being on the NYPD? I love the show and it's made me consider joining the NYPD but I know it's fiction and probably unrealistic. One of the best parts about the show is its representation and diversity, but is the NYPD force actually anything like that, or is it like police stereotypes and mostly white guys? I know the events and humor are exaggerated on TV, but does the workplace typically have toxic masculinity and racism like some police forces are known to have? #JULY20 #police #NYPD #cops #cop #NYC #New-York #criminal-justice

Can anyone shed light on what your experience has been like having a clinical doctoral degree for speech pathology? Since attaining your SLPD, have you experienced any differences in the treatment you receive as an SLP?

I just recently learned that there was such thing as an SLPD, so I was wondering if any current SLPs can attest to their thoughts on a speech pathologist getting their SLPD. What was the process like? Did this new degree bring any additional pros/cons to the job? Do you believe that the degree is worth the extra years of schooling? Thanks so much! #JULY20 #SpeechPathology #ClinicalDoctor #SLPD

My question is how do I find tech companies who are hiring non-residents?

My major is computer science and I’m an international student. After graduation we can apply to work for a year as a part of practical training. But I’m worried about my career after that because my one work permit will expire and can’t be renewed since I’m a non-resident of US. I have to find a company who can sponsor H1 visa so that I could continue my work. There are millions of international students, permanent residents/citizens of US, people with greater work experiences applying at the same time as me. My question is how do I find tech companies who are hiring non-residents? How do I stand out among those huge mass people? #technology #computer-science #international-student #JULY20

How did you stay positive when writing about touchy topics?

I have yet to publish any of my writings because of fear of rejects. I find it hard to see my own writing as good or with a good topics. For example, the story I'm currently writing deals with the controversial idea of "Black Self-hatred". I'm also planning on writing about another controversial idea that deals with Christianity. Having my first stories be so controversial isn't really motivating me to turn my writing hobby into a career because I fear the type of backlash I would get. #writing #stories #book #controversial #july20 How do you work around the fear of backlash in order to create stories?
