Should I choose a minor that is easily utilized if my major is specific to a certain field?

I would like to major in conservation biology or wildlife biology, but it seems like a very difficult field to become employed in, and I was planning on minoring in psychology because I am interested in behavior and thought it would compliment a biology degree. However, would it be better to minor, or double major, in a more career-oriented field? Such as business, marketing, liberal arts, etc. They aren't especially interesting topics for me, but would they serve well as a backup plan? #conservation #wildlife-biology #business #marketing #liberal-arts #choosing-a-major #choosing-major ##choosing-a-minor #choosing-a-career #psychology #majors-and-minors #interests

As a liberal arts student, what should my second major be?

Hello everyone! I am a college student halfway through my second year at a liberal arts college. Soon, I will be completing my first major, which is Global Studies: Worlds in Dialogue (a mixture of political science, philosophy, sociology, history, and english). Although I could graduate early, I would prefer to complete an additional major instead; I enjoy school and would like to receive the full benefits of a four year post-secondary education. The problem is that I am uncertain about what type of career I would like to pursue after college and fear that I will later regret making the wrong decision (major-wise) while I am attending school. Currently, I am considering sociology, philosophy, and business, but I am open minded to other possibilities as well. What advice would you give me in terms of which additional major (and/or minors) I should pursue and how I should go about making this decision? Thanks! #college #college-major #college-majors #liberal-arts #liberal-arts-major #career-development

What is the meaning of liberal arts?

I understand what visual arts and all that kind of stuff is but most universities near me are classified as liberal arts institutions. If the meaning is anything like visual arts then why is there business and science and other majors that would have nothing to do with that? #college #university #higher-education #liberal-arts

What are the benefits of attending a Liberal Arts college?

I am currently attending a small private liberal arts school in Ohio, and while I believe that my education will be very useful, others tend to think that these degrees do not mean as much and are not worth as much as public university degrees for example. #liberal-arts
