What is credit and how do I build good credit?

Going into college you are confronted with lots of ways to pay for tuition, including loans. Typically, everyone is charged around the same interest for their loans because there tends to be little to no credit history among young individuals . I know that this may not be the case for any future loans I may take and that my credit score may be taken into account when a bank is giving out a loan. So how do I begin to build my credit and work towards earning a good score? #finance #credit-cards #credit #college #money #loans #student-loans

What are the best tools for staying debt free when going to college?

I've heard stories of people getting "full rides" to college and I want to know how? Does that mean they will get their education at no financial cost? And if so, how can all of us students do that? I want to get my degree as a Dietician and am looking for colleges that aren't ridiculously expensive, but I am still afraid of being in debt. #debt #college #loans #financial-planning #college-advice

What is the average amount of loans students have to pay off at the end of their bachelor degree?

I am a high school senior and am deciding between going to a private university or a state university. If I decide to attend the private school, I would need to take out some loans, and I was wondering what the average loan looks like for a student pursuing a bachelor degree, so I can get a better idea about what a reasonable loan looks like. #bachelors #loans #tuition #expenses

Is there any other choice other than loans?

Throughout the college process, I faced several struggles and at this point in the process, I have been accepted to every college that I applied to but find that I don't know what university I will be attending in the Fall. I have this dilemma not because I have too many options, but because I don't have enough. Each of my colleges has offered me less than substantial financial aid and as a result, I've found that I am scrambling for any money that I can receive and at this point it seems that my only option is to take out loans but I do not want to have to resort to this and I would like to know if there are any other choices that would help me out. #financial-planning #college #college-advice #loans

Both of my parents have very bad credit due to my father going to jail multiple times. Because of this, I am worried that I won't be able to get loans for college. Does it make sense to borrow money without getting a student loan?

The financial aid package for my graduate program includes only direct unsubsidized graduate loans. These loans have high interest rates and bad conditions. My tuition is very expensive and I am not receiving enough scholarship money to cover tuition, even if I get a high-paying part-time job. My parents have offered to cover some of the tuition by taking a loan through our bank, so that I do not have to take out so much in student loans. Does this make sense? Or do student loans come with special conditions or protections that regular loans don't have? #tuition #money #student-loans #loans #money-management #debt #college #financial-aid
