How can I overcome my fear of math and build the necessary skills for nursing Are there resources or support systems available for students like me who struggle with math?

I've been contemplating a major in nursing, but I'm grappling with the fact that math has always been a struggle for me. Throughout school, I've often felt embarrassed about my difficulties with math, to the point where seeking help became daunting. Despite my best efforts, I haven't grasped math concepts since elementary school. Considering the math requirements for nursing, I can't shake the feeling that my weakness in math might hinder my ability to become a nurse. It's disheartening when others seem to understand what's going on in the classroom, and I feel left behind. I want to address this challenge head-on and not let it define my future. How can I overcome my fear of math and build the necessary skills for nursing? Are there resources or support systems available for students like me who struggle with math? Sharing my story feels vulnerable, but I want to ensure that I can pursue my passion for nursing despite this obstacle.

What sort of classes are involved in a Math Major?

Math is something that I enjoy doing and am very good at, and I would like to pursue it as my major in preparation for medical school. I feel that it would increase my critical thinking skills and my problem-solving skills. However, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of classes I would take, what sort of math-related skills I would learn, what kind of careers I could pursue with a math degree if medical school didn't work out, and any other information you think I should be aware of when it comes to this major. #mathematics #math

I love math, spelling, architecture, and astronomy. What job is good for me?

Hi, I’m Shayla and I’m in 5th grade. I want to have a job to look forward to like all the other kids, but I can’t seem to choose. If you could suggest a few that would be great. Some things about me; I’m mature for my age, I love math and I’m in algebra one, I won my school spelling bee two years in a row, some interests of mine are architecture, astronomy, watercolor art, and photography. I’m hoping to put these suggestions in my Career Goals Statement. Thanks! #career #college #math

How should I independently prepare for a future degree and career in computer science while still in high school?

I'm currently a junior in high school, doing IB. Most of my IB subjects are irrelevant to CS (English, French, chemistry, biology, philosophy, psychology) except for math. In math, I am learning algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, probability and statistics, and calculus. So aside from this, what can I do independently that will better prepare me and help me succeed in computer science? I've already seen long lists of online resources, but they're confusing and overwhelming. I just want a simple and straightforward roadmap consisting of (online) resources that will help me develop skills applicable to any discipline in CS (data science, cybersecurity, web development, software engineering/development, etc.) In addition, I would like efficient resources or courses that wouldn't take up much time, because I have a demanding workload. Thanks in advance! #computer-science #technology #science #university #high-school #software #data-science #math #cybersecurity #online-resources #roadmap #university-prep

How do I know if engineering is the right field for me?

Hi! I'm currently a high school student trying to figure out what to major in for college. I enjoy solving problems and learning math/science, but I've never really been the type of person to take things apart and put them together just for the sake of it. Could I still consider being an engineer? Or is there another better option out there for me? #engineering #engineer #math #science #college #solutions #major #technology #tech

I have been apart of a math internship where I help Algebra 1 kids with their homework and I am apart of the National Honor Society. Should I do an apprenticeship?

Recently there's been an apprentice program for a train company. The way their program works is that I would do it every other day. Basically, I go to school one day, and the apprenticeship another day. I don't know if I should do it because then I would have to quit all of my electives (Band, NJROTC, etc). My school only has four periods in a day, so I would only be able to take core classes. I want to be an engineer, preferably in Robotics or Aerospace. The program could be beneficial, but it's not a career that I would want to stay in, but I would gain experience, in assembly, manufacturing, and electronics. Plus it pays $17/hour. What's my best option? Thanks! #engineering #engineer #college #college #mechanical-engineering #aerospace-engineering #biomedical-engineering #career #robotics #band #high-school #schedule #career-pathway #pathway #engineering #college #engineer #high-school #airline-industry #any #fighter-pilot #navy #armed-forces #aviation #army #raptor #biology #science #career #pilot #tech #technology #marine #air-force #marines #airline #hashtag #military #math #college-major #aeronautics #computer-science #physics #mechanical #chemistry #aerospace-engineering #robotics #any #information-technology #technology #medicine #information-technology
