I'm interested in math and helping people, so financial or business planning/guidance seems pretty cool, but I'm nervous about getting bored at work. I'm a bubbly people-person and love problem-solving. However, the idea of going into a career with so much paperwork and office work seems awful, but again, I love math and helping people. (I'm still in highschool, so this isn't a binding idea, just something I'm curious about!) Any thoughts on whether this wouldn't be a great career for lively people? I also am still struggling with confidence and am not awesome at being decisive and standing up for myself in front of other people. I can do that behind the scenes, though. If that makes sense!

Are online or in-person math classes better?
I'm toying around with the idea of getting my bachelor's in math. I prefer online school, and I'm really doing well in my online statistic class. However, my older brother took calculus via a online class and he really struggled (normally he does really well with online classes). Mathematicians of Career Village, which method did you do and which did you prefer? If you could go back, which classes would you take in-person/online?

Communication Technology vs Electrical Engineering?
As a freshman in college, I have a GPA of 3.5 and got mostly B's in math. I have experience with technology (like basic coding) but not engineering in high school. Two majors at my school are Communication Technology (CT) and Electrical Engineering (EE). CT contains classes in digital media production, coding, business, and telephones/electricity. EE contains topics like physics, math, science, and making electronics. The reason why I'm interested in these two is I want a good paying job where I can make enough money to travel, yet where I can pursue my interests in creating stuff. I've always felt intimidated by engineering, because you do alott of math. Yet, I heard you can become a theatre engineer and acoustics or sound engineer! I like that there's so much careers you can do in CT but Idk many people with this career. Anyone have advice? Can I enter EE without any experience? Can CT be good?

Should i switch or not?
So tbh i chose Machine learning engineering mostly because my high school gpa and some other skills would be most useful there -except math, god i hate math , never being good at that- . Im creative unluckily in my country graphic design is severely underpayed ( not even kidding, you can make the same money working in a factory , no degree needed there) so out of all fields tech was the one that seemed the most convinient and machine learning sounded kinda interesting so i went ahead, applied, got accepted and im currently starting my freshman year. Computer science as a whole is not something that im thrilled about. Had some introductory courses in hs that bored me to death (combination of terrible teacher and useless outdated knowledge). I'll give this a try untill february and hopefully by then i'll know what to do My gut feeling tells me that i should switch ASAP,however the introductory university courses are tolerable (? Even a little interesting)so im not neccesarily miserable here How do i make sure i enjoy whatever im doing? All my classmates have at least some experience programming for real and im so scared of this major. Dont want to switch and end up missing my current major :-/ #college #computer-science #math #career #engineering
