If im trying to get into a good college, does taking 3 years of language make a huge difference even though 2 is the minimum?
Right now, my schedule for next year consists of 2 math classes because that will leave open a spot for an AP class in junior year, instead of having to wait till senior year. However it kicks out a language class and an art class. If I take the 2 math classes I will only be able to have 2 years of a language, so I'm not sure if I should just take the 2 maths, or do something else, like only taking 1 math, or take an extremely hard and rigorous class over the summer (which I am not a fan of) to get 3 years. #general #math
Should I pursue a senior project that exposes me to a new area of physics or one that is more in line with what I believe I'll want to do as a career?
Currently, I don't have a clear idea as to what I want to do after graduation. I'll definitely apply to PhD programs, but I don't know what field I want to specialize in. Right now I'm most interested in optics, laser physics, and math. For my senior project, I'm tasked with choosing a research advisor I'll work with for my final year of undergrad. The first professor is amazing. We have a great relationship, and I know I'll have an excellent experience working with him. His project deals with a field I'm interested in but don't have experience with. We would work with nanomaterials and fabrication - a lot of hands on lab skills. The other professor seems super cool. I don't know him at all, but his project deals with optics, lasers, and orbital mechanics. He's also working in collaborations with aerospace companies I'm interested in. I'm learning toward the first prof because chemistry with your advisor is so important since you'll be working with them for a whole year. I'll also be taking electives and labs in optics next year so it's not like I'll be missing out on the material. And at the end of the day, I think exploring options is the goal of the undergrad experience. Am I making the right choice? #math #college #capstone #senior-project #undergrad #phd #undergraduate #optics #last-physics #microelectronic-engineering #engineering #physics #research #research-advisor

What's the best major/career for me?
I have been trying to find a major/career that suits me for a while, but nothing seems to stick because I have so many interests. I recently graduated from Clayton State University with my Associate of Arts in Integrative Studies and I will be graduating from high school in May. I plan to enroll in college in August, but the college I choose strongly depends on my major. My interests include: Mathematics (Statistics and Algebra), Science (Biology and Human anatomy), Healthcare, Office work, Education (Teaching/children), Mental health/ Counseling, Handling money, and Management/Business Administration/ Human resources. My goals for my career include: helping others , having a salary that allows me to live comfortably, having a good work-life balance, and being happy with my career. I would love to find a major/career that includes most, if not all, of my interests and goals. I would also like to be able to start working after I obtain my bachelor's or master's degree (if needed). Can you please provide me with any majors, careers, and colleges that could possibly be a good fit? #career #business #healthcare #management #education #college #mentalhealth #science #math
