What should my major be as an undergrad if I want to attend medical school?

What major would be best to have as an undergraduate if I later want to attend medical school? Would it be something like biology, chemistry, or biochemistry? Or include something like psychology or sociology? Double majors and dual-degrees would be an option, but what do med school interviewers look for the most? #college-majors #majors #college #university #medicine #med-school #premed #biology #chemistry #psychology

How do I know if pursuing medical school is right for me?

I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’m beginning dual enrollment classes. I’m trying to figure out what I’d like to do in the future so I can gear my electives towards that. I have an interest in medicine, specifically surgery, and I think I could be good in it, but I’m just not sure if I’m ready for the commitment.

I am currently doing BSc in Business Management and Information Systems. What are the possibilities of doing MD after? Read below.

I am doing Coursera courses and specializations. I am gaining as much knowledge as I can. I am planning on doing GRE chemistry and GRE psychology (as I want to go into psychiatry). I know it’s very hard but I am doing whatever I can. Any recommendations or anything at all (what do you think?) How do I prepare for the MCAT without taking any medical courses in undergraduate studies? Also, I am doing my bachelor's at the University of Aberdeen and here we don't have electives.

How do you enjoy life as a premed?

I really hate all the restrictions I have on myself as a premed. Basically all the things I did to get into college (fancy extracurriculars, stellar grades, 20+ applications, standardized testing, etc.) I have to do again to get into med school- but with a job on top of it. And I'm majoring in Computer Science, so that's yet another set of hardcore classes to worry about. To anyone who had to do the premed grind, did you enjoy it? How did you find ways to take it easy? #college #doctor #medicine #pre-med #physician #medical-school #pre-medicine #med-school

What can I do to maximize my chances of getting into medical school and, in the case that I am not accepted, what is the next step I can take?

I am a rising college sophomore looking to attend medical school post-graduation. I have read that medical schools are interested in many things including MCAT scores, GPA, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, ability to answer interview questions, etc. I am, therefore, interested in knowing whether I must excel in each area to be able to compete with the masses, or if I have a bit of leeway. In addition to this, I am interested in knowing if there is anything I can do to still attend medical school if I am originally denied entry. #medical-school #med-school #medicine
