How can I get accepted to work in a museum?
Hello, my name is Lina. I am an undergraduate alumni, my major is Arts and Culture Management. I would like to start my career soon, and currently making process for this. I have applied to many museums and galleries where I would like to work, but I did not get any offer from them. I get rejection emails day by day and feel devastated lately. Does having experience outside of your preferred career field do anything to you?
I do not have a lot of experience (job or otherwise) in the field that I am currently pursuing, however I do have experience in areas such as working in a museum, teaching and working in the arts (glass blowing, painting, sewing..). Is there anyway to incorporate those skills in the environmental field? Can I place these as skills I have on my resume? Thank you! #environmental-science #experience #resume-writing #museums #art

Can volunteer work help in the long run when it comes to a career?
I'm almost out of college and I've been trying to get a summer job with no success. I would like to do something with my time and I've read somewhere that volunteering is great, especially if its related to your degree. For me, I'm majoring in Art and Design and I've already set up applications to volunteer at an art museum and also other programs that might involve something like helping in workshops or teaching some small art classes to children or adults. Will this help with my job search if I plan on sticking with something related in the arts? I've considered possibly working in a museum or something similar to that. I live near Houston which has a pretty diverse art community already. I guess my real question is, does volunteer work look good on a resume? #volunteering #museums #arts-and-crafts
I am thinking about double majoring in nonprofit organizations and art history. Is this a good idea?
In the future I would like to eventually work in a museum and or gallery. I would preferably like to work my way up to becoming in charge of a museum or something of that nature. I know most museums now a days are nonprofit so would teaming up majors be a smart decision? All I am for sure of right now is that I would really like to work with in the art world. #college #college-major #art #nonprofits #museums #art-history #galleries
