When it comes to releasing music, what is the best way to gain an audience ?

I have recently released my first album through DistroKid after two years of learning and making music. Though I believe I had done my best in sharing it around on social media, I had only gained 3 listeners on the first track of the album. My goal of going into music as a career path is to have something I enjoy doing and also share my ideas with others, but I just feel that I'm not doing something right here.

Does band and arts give you an advantage for college, even if music isn't your major or minor?

Next year, I'm in the 9th grade and I would like to major in either Pre-Med or Biology. I also take band and I'm in the marching band and planning to take it for the next 4 years. I'm wondering if that factor will give me an edge on my college application and if it will benefit me later. Thanks!

Is it okay to listen to music while studying?

I always listen to music or put the tv as background noise while I'm studying and I feel like it helps me concentrate (when I feel like it's bothering me or I get to a harder topic I turn it off), but every time my sister comes to my room and sees me doing this she always gives me a lecture that I'm not studying right. Is it okay to listen to music while studying even if I feel like is not harming my understanding in any way? #music #studying-tips #studying #test #college-essay #finals

Could I make my passion my career?

Ok so I am currently 16 and I have always loved music and had a secret dream become a singer but only to preform, not to become famous or anything. Anyways over the years my thoughts about music have been taken over by school but when I was 14 I discovered Broadway, and my passion is stronger than ever. I have been told that I have a talent for singing and acting and that I'm good at dancing (I have a nice voice and I cant make very clear and expressive facial expressions). But I never believed them because I always tell myself "it's not enough, its not enough to peruse a career". Yet it is still my dream and I am still motivated to make it a reality. I have started vocal classes, I plan to (and hope to) go to the Boston conservatory for musical arts if I get in (even though I will have to cover myself financially), I do multiple musical theater classes and I am planning to continue this and expand my capacity. However deep down I still have that thought that I wont make it. That I'm not good enough and it is a hard and risky career. My parents believe that as well. My father always supported me but he said that I have almost no chance of making Broadway (btw he has never seen me preform). Not only that but I live internationally meaning I have to move to a different continent (which I have no problem with but still). I have days where I truly believe that it will always stay a dream and other days where I believe that I can do it. I would love to get someone else's opinion, if they believe you need pure talent to get into the musical industry of if it is a mix of hard work and talent. What do you think? Could I make it with only motivation, passion and hard work ? #music #career #art #future

How do I proceed when I have a lot of possible careers but not enough experience in any to work full-time?

I realized late into my college experience that I didn't want to work a math job at all so I finished out my Math degree and am now struggling to find a full-time job I feel qualified for. I have a list of 5 or so potential careers (Including but not limited to: Singer-Songwriter, Writer, Naturalist, Photographer, Artist), but I don't feel like I'm at the point where I could pursue any of them full-time. I'm wondering if I should just get a math job and explore the other options in my free-time, if I should just find any job related to my current interests, or if I should put off getting a full-time job until I get a little clearer in my objective. I'm alright on cash for now, I'd just prefer not to live with my parents for longer than I have to. I'm most likely overthinking this and you probably would need some more information to give a solid path forwards, but whatever. I'm here to listen. Thanks for all your help!

How can I choose a profitable career when my interests don’t align with many?

I’m an upcoming senior in high school and I’m starting to seriously consider my future path. My issue is that my interest in the preforming and fine arts outweighs much of anything else, and From what I know those Aren’t fields that often get paid very much. I enjoy designing and drafting so I was looking at careers in the architectural and graphic design fields, but I hold more passion for fiction writing than I do Math. My other interests are things like theater, music (theory and performance) I do find things like psychology interesting, but that field deals with directly helping people, and jobs like that, (teacher, therapist, psychiatrist,) would be awful for me. So I’m at a huge roadblock. Any help? #arts #music #career #career-choice #help #architecture #graphicdesign #starvingartist #decisions #stuck #confused #help # #psychology #profitable #money

Which careers integrate art and math/science?

Im a Junior but I've been wondering since 9th grade what to study, because originally I wanted to study Aerospacial engineering, later on Pediatric Chiropactor and right now I have no Idea what to study. I'm injterested in art beacause I've been studying Theater, dance and music(I just graduated from the theathre program.Right now I'm specializing In dance folkloric dances and basic ballet and Music singing, viola and the trumpet). But also I'm studying on a specialized school on math and science which I love but I wouldn't like to abandon any of those areas, regarding arts and science,so I would like to study something that involves art and science. All recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance #engineering #science #music #theatre #fine-art #performing-arts #theatrical-production
