What should do for my interest in neuroscience while in high school?

I was thinking of creating a neuroscience club out side of school, but I'm not sure how to go about that. I'm about to volunteer at a hospital, and hold neuroscience sessions to learn/ teach about neuroscience. What are some things I can do to increase my knowledge and put on an application. Finance wise I'm limited.

What classes t take or neuroscience / biomedical enginnering major ?

I am 16, currently in 10th grade. I have selected AP Micro, AP Stats, and AP Seminar for my 11th-grade year, and I have chosen Environmental Science as a science class. I had planned to take a business major but I am also conflicted as I want to take a neuroscience or biomedical engineering major as well. I have only previously taken biology and physics for my science classes and I am afraid I won't be qualified for these majors since I haven't taken enough science classes yet (such as Chemistry) and I'm already in my third year of highschool. Even so, I wouldn't be able to take AP Chem or AP Bio since I don't have chemistry as a prerequisite. Should I keep my 11th-grade classes the same or should I switch some/all of them out? What should I take in 12th grade? I also want to have AP Micro as an option in case of a back-up plan if I need to resort back to taking a Business major.

Why did you decide to be a neurologist? What inspired you?

Hi! My name is Andrea and I am doing research on neurology for my Health class. I would appreciate it if you answered these questions the best you could. What did you think of them? 3)How can I decide if I want to get a PH.D. in this field? 4)Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later time? 5)Did you need to shadow another professional in the field before becoming a neurologist? 6)Was there a subject you struggled with during your school years? 7)What skill sets did you learn or gain while being in this profession? 8) Why did you choose a career in medicine? Why did you choose this specialty? 9)Do you regret going through the years of schooling? 10) What skills would you recommend someone to have before trying to get into this field? 11) What keeps you motivated?

How do scientific researchers come up with their ideas?

I'm an 11th grader in some biotechnology classes, and it's got me very interested in pursuing a career in medical research. However, I don't really understand how researchers come up with their ideas. Is there a list out there to choose from, or do people come up with them themselves? Because I've been trying and never came up with anything.

is there any careers that combine cognitive/brain science, computer science, psychology, and neuroscience or something around this because I am a freshman computer science major but want to get my Phd in cogsci but unsure on what I could do with it

I am interested in all of these paths and would like to have a career relating or combining them that is not your typical UX designer or software engineer.

I want to be a neuroscientist. In September, I'll be attending university for BScH in Neuroscience. Should I double major in Neuroscience and Computer Science? This will take 5 years instead of the usual four.

I am going to Canada (from India) to study neuroscience. I'm just wondering if computer would be helpful in neuroscience. Remember that I really love Computer, know C and Java, but I would have so many things going on provided research, extracurricular activities, volunteering, and so on.

Does anyone know of any internship/program opportunities in STEM?

I'm currently on the hunt for some easier to get into internship/program opportunities in computer science, artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, and neuroscience. So far, I have found opportunities, but with low acceptance rates, and I need some back up options to fall back on. The problem with this is that it's really difficult to find programs like these that are easy to get into. Can anyone help? #internship #engineering #technology #computer-science #neuroscience #aerospace # #science #engineer

Is outsourcing a problem in the biomedical engineering / neuroengineering field?

I am a student planning to major in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Neuroscience in hopes of being competitive in the field of neuroengineering. Specifically, I would like to work on the development of neuroprosthetics. I know that outsourcing is a bit of a problem in other engineering fields, so I was wondering if this also holds true for biomedical engineering? I would also like to know about job opportunities in this field. I am hoping that the industry is not too small to be dependable. #internships #career #neuroscience #neuroengineering #career-development #career-counseling #prosthetics #neuroprosthetics #neuralprosthetics #neurorobots #neuroelectronics #bioengineering #biomedicalengineering #engineering #college #biotech

As someone interested in Neuroscience as a possible career, would electrical/electronic engineering be a good major?

Since the body's nervous system uses a series of electrical impulses to relay messages, I feel like this electronic/electrical engineering would be a good discipline to pursue. I could possibly minor in neuroscience, but also have available a wide array of career paths in both engineering disciplines and the medical setting. I have also read a lot about the crossroads between neuroscience and electrical/electronic engineering. Any reccomendations? #engineering #electrical-engineering #neuroscience #Brain #medicine #body #electronic engineering

What is the difference between electrical and electronic engineering? Which will be better for the future?

I am a 11th grade high school student who is interested in neuroscience as well as engineering. Since the body's nervous system uses a variety of electrical impulses to function, I thought what better way to combine the two principle than getting an engineering degree. Now, I am not sure whether electrical or electronic engineering will better meet my needs and the needs for the future. #engineering #engineer #electrical-engineering #electronic_engineering #neuroscience

Should I get a bachelors in Biomedical Engineering? should I go for a more traditional engineering pathway with a minor in biomedical engineering/ neuroscience/ biology? or solely pursue neuroscience?

I am a High school student who is intuitive and drawn to both engineering and the brain. I am currently not sure whether Engineering or neuroscience will be better with me. Upon thorough research I have come to the conclusion that pursuing a bachelors in an engineering principle will provide me with widest array of options for my future whether it be medicine or engineering. However, I know that biomedical engineering can be too broad and I am not sure whether to pursue a more traditional engineering principle or neuroscience. #biomedical-engineering #engineering #neuroscience
