What are the most important skills you need to succeed as a icu/picu/nicu nurse? And what are the biggest challenges you face on a day to day basis?

I am an aspiring college student-athlete and nursing has always seemed like the perfect job. However I’m trying to figure out if nursing is the right career path for me.

Is it better to go to a more “prestigious” university for medical school rather for pre-med?

I want to know what I should except going into becoming a neonatologist and be prepared rather than lost and confused. #nicu #degree #career #college #medicine #doctor

Hello! My name is Nathaly and I am a current high school student. 1.) What profession did you choose? Why? 2.) How many years of college did you need to go through? 3.) What jobs did you work before you landed your present professional job? 4.) How can I decide if I should earn a Ph.D. in this field? 5.) Were you in a college program? 6.) Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later date? 7.) Did you shadow another professional in the field? 8. ) Did you join any school clubs related to your current profession? 9.) Was there a particular subject you struggled with during your school years? 10.) What skill sets did you learn or gain while pursuing your career? 11.) What are some skills you need for this field? 12.) Would you do something different if you can go back in time? 13.) Did you do any internships? If so what did you do and how were you able to get the internship?

How to become a NICU Rn

Hello I graduated in 2017 and I am finally at a place to go for a degree. I want to become a NICU RN. However I have no idea how to start, should I go for prerequisites 1st at a community college then apply to a nursing school? Can I go straight for a BSN after I complete my perquisites? Is they're an online accredited college that will transfer my prerequisites? I need help with the steps/specifics. I would be the only person to even go to college in my family, so I have no idea how to do this. #nursing #medicine #college #healthcare #NICU #nurse

Does anyone have a recommended path I should take in college to become a neonatal nurse practitioner? Should I become a CNA before becoming an RN? How many years should I work as an RN before going back to school to become an NP?

I’m a high school sophomore looking to become a NICU nurse practitioner. :) I have researched a little about the requirements, but am a little lost about how I should go about my education and career path #nursing #nurse #registered-nurses #healthcare #NICU #neonatal

Nurses-what made you choose your specific specialty?

I'm thinking about pursuing nursing, but I am unsure what to specialize in. I am interested in labor and delivery, pediatrics and NICU nursing, but I would be interested in hearing the perspective of nurses of all different specialties. #nursing #pediatric-nursing #maternal-newborn-care #nicu

Are certain nursing programs better for a career in working in the NICU then others? If so, which ones?

I am currently living in Colorado Springs, Colorado and plan on going to college here as well and work at the Children’s Hospital currently being built. There are many nursing programs offered and I just would like to know if certain ones would be better for a future career working in the NICU #career #nursingprograms #nicu

How often do neonatal nurses see critical care newborns and how do you deal with what's happening in front of you?

I want to be a neonatal nurse and I love babies so much and it hurts me to see them in pain so I want to help them in any way I can. I want to know how often I'll see critical care babies so I can mentally prepare myself for what I will experience in my career. #neonatalnursing #nicu #nurse #nursing
