What branch of Chemistry should I specialize in and what jobs are available for each?

I love Chemistry and I know I want to major in it, but I don't know what branch I want to go into specifically. I know there's analytical chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry. What kinds of jobs do each of these branches include and which branches will have the most job opportunities in the future? Thank you in advance!

Should I take Honors Organic Chemistry and AP Chemistry together?

I will be going into 11th grade next year, and I'm interested in going into Pre-Med. Here is my schedule for next year: Hon. Pre-Calc w/ Trig AP US History AP English 3 Hon. French IV AP Chemistry String Orchestra (Gym) I have space for 1 elective, so I was wondering if it would be better to take Organic Chemistry next year or senior year... if not, I can take Hon. Anatomy and Physiology instead. Based on how much coursework / content there will be, do you have any advice or recommendations? I am planning on doing AP Chem + Org. Chem together and AP Biology + Anatomy/Physiology together. Any thoughts? Thank you! #high-school-student #chemistry #AP #Honors #organic-chemistry #courses #sophomore

Any tips for organic chemistry?

I want to go into medicine, and I've heard that organic chemistry is a must, but it's also something that is extremely hard. Are there any tips for getting good grades in that class and making sure that I understand everything? #medicine #organic-chemistry

What careers could I pursue with a degree in chemistry or biochemistry?

I really like organic chemistry and I find molecular biology pretty interesting. I just want to know what my options would be if I were to get a degree in chemistry or biochemistry, and what those careers are like. I'm already thinking about being a research chemist or a chemical engineer or a forensic scientist. What else is there though? #chemistry #molecular-biology #organic-chemistry

Are the prospects for chemistry truly as bad as people make them out to be?

Initially, I was really interested in majoring in chemistry/biochemistry (I realize the two are very different, but was leaning towards chemistry) this coming fall, but from what I've read online, chemists don't seem to have great job prospects. I've read of PhD students struggling to make over $50k a year, as well as the overall shortage of long-lasting (see: not temp) jobs in the field. Though chemistry interests me, I honestly don't want to find myself at a dead end with tons of student debt and no way to pay it off. Thanks :) #science #chemistry #biochemistry #job-market #organic-chemistry

If I had a B.Pharm degree, what would I do next if I wanted to do biochemical engineering/chemical engineering?

Okay, so basically I'm in my second year of the B.Pharm degree. I want to finish the degree. What would be my next step? In the end I want to do research in a direction that would incorporate biochemical engineering into my knowledge of medicines. To put it into perspective; I wouldn't mind studying another four to six years after having done the B.Pharm degree if I could then have a career as a research scientist in drug design, or something along those lines. #chemical-engineering #biochemistry #bioengineering #organic-chemistry #drug-development #drug-discovery
