Which do you find better when it comes to the pharmacy world, working in a research lab or a pharmacy in a drug store/hospital?

I have been accepted into a pre-pharmacy program and I am hoping to finish school with a Pharm-D. I feel that a research lab will be better for me because I want to help in finding things like the cure to cancer or the cure to Alzheimer's and I believe that the cure is in medicine. I want to know what its like from different viewpoints and which, in the long run, will be better for me. #medicine #research #pharmacy #pharmacists #pharmacist #medical-research #laboratory #pharmd

I am going to be a junior in college in the school year 2016-2017, and I want to be realistic of what opportunities I definitely can pursue. I am at a quality academic college and I have a couple of C's. I am very interested in this field and I plan on volunteering with a pharmacist in a few months. Will pharmacists get prescribing rights?

The prescribing rights have increased for both physician assistants and for nurses in the hospital setting. Today, pharmacists are still mostly confined to the pharmacy, and there are less pharmacists that are going from room to room and checking on patients. I believe that this will most likely stay the same due to pharmacists not wanting to cross the line into physician territory. But in cases of physician shortages, pharmacists could be the one’s called upon to see certain patients and help prescribe them medications. There are areas where nurses have more prescribing rights, this could possibly turn into pharmacists also having prescribing rights. #healthcare #pharmacy #pharmacists #hospital-and-health-care #rights #prescribing #prescription

What major would be best to earn a degree in to pursue a career in pharmaceutical engineering?

I want to be a pharmaceutical engineer to make medications to help treat or cure various diseases in humans, but pharmaceutical engineering really isn't a major in itself. Chemical engineering seems to have a large focus on natural resources, like drilling oil, or working wth nuclear materials. Biomedical engineering seems to focus on the design of prosthetics. Pre-med programs seem to be geared towards becoming practicing doctors and pharamcy programs don't seem to go into the chemistry behind making medication. #pre-med #biomedical-engineering #chemical-engineering #pharmacists #choosing-a-major #pharmaceutical-industry

I am interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Currently, my top three options are becoming a nurse, pharmacist and pediatrician. My heart is most set on becoming a pediatrician because I would love to help improve children's health but I don't know if I would want to go through so many years of school. I am also scared that I won't get into medical school because it is very competitive. I'm in 10th grade and I'm just exploring. What does it take to become a nurse or pharmacist?
