Advice for PhD application

Hello, When applying to PhD's what do you think looks more attractive for admissions, a Master's without a thesis while working in a research lab or a Master's with a thesis? I have a low undergrad GPA and am trying to make up for it with a Master's before a biology PhD. #college #biology #gpa #phd

What advice would you provide a para-professional that is looking to enter the field of Higher Education Student Affairs with an interest to become a university Provost?

I am looking into obtaining my Master's of Higher Education Student Affairs and currently serve as a College Advisor. My long term goals include becoming a motivational speaker for higher education and working with students who are in that transitional part of high school and college. I would like to later become a Provost of a university to see and enact change on campuses that may not have a solid connection with their student body. #college #teacher #education #higher-education #masters #phd #provost

What are the main differences between a PsyD and a PhD in psychology? What do schools look at in terms of qualifications for acceptance?

I am a senior undergrad student getting ready to graduate with a B.S. in social sciences this December. I am interested in pursuing a higher degree in psychology, but would like to know the main differences between the PsyD and the PhD. I have heard the main differences are that research experience is necessary to be accepted into PhD programs and that PsyD programs are a little bit shorter in terms of years to complete. Are there any other major differences between the programs? How do I know which one is right for me? What are schools looking for in candidates applying to these programs and what can I do to increase my chances of acceptance besides a high GPA and decent GRE scores? Thank you so much! #phd #PsyD #gradschoolprograms #July #doctorate-degree

Is it worth going to graduate school for art? Would it help me get a better job in that field

I plan on majoring in art in college but I am not really sure what I will be able to use it for after college. So, I would think that going to an even higher level of education for it would be futile, but then again it might help. #phd

On average, how expensive is pursuing a PhD?

I am really interested in pursuing higher education and excited for the possibility of completing such a high level of study. My concern is that it most likely will not be an affordable course of action; which might barre me from pursuing education at that level.
