Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later date? As a Physician Assistant.

Did you shadow another professional in the field? Did you join any school clubs related to your current profession? Was there a particular subject you struggled with during your school years? What skill sets did you learn or gain while pursuing your career?

Hello! My name is Vinh and I am a current high school student. I'm conducting an interview with any professional in the pharmaceutical or family medicine physician field for a Foundations in Health Science Class project about careers!

This is my second time asking this question. Unfortunately, I had only one person answer my previous question, so I wanted to ask again to get my questions out there. I have created a total of 13 questions. Comment on this post, answering all 13 questions to be a part of my assignment. 1. What profession did you choose? Why? 2. How many years of college did you need to go through? 3. What jobs did you work before you landed your present professional job? 4. How can I decide if I should earn a Ph.D. in this field? 5. Were you in a college program? 6. Did you have to pivot and go back to school at a later date? 7. Did you shadow another professional in the field? 8. Did you join any school clubs related to your current profession? 9. Was there a particular subject you struggled with during your school years? 10. What skill sets did you learn or gain while pursuing your career? 11. What is the hardest part about working in your professional job? 12. Were there any obstacles that you faced that slowed you down? If so, how did you stop them? 13. What would you like for people to know about this particular career before pursuing it? Thank you for answering these questions, I really appreciate you being a part of my assignment. Please make sure that you have answered every question, as my assignment needs all of them.

Why should I become a Physician Assistant instead of going ahead and study to be a doctor?

Interested in being in the medical field but not sure which path to head towards. Second guess myself if I can actually make my plans of being in the medical field come true.

Vocational Inquiry

I got heart surgery about 2 years ago and since then I have stuck to the idea of being in the health field. I KNOW I want to be a Cardiologist. However, I don't know if I want to be a surgeon or physician. I had asked my cardiologist what classes they thought I should take and they said AP Math and/or Intro Physics. I took AP Statistics last year and I am currently taking AP English Language and Macroeconomics. I wanted to take AP Biology next year and get a job so I don't think I can do both. I wanted to ask: -Which one of the two classes should I take? -Are there any common classes for both surgeons and physicians? -What classes should I take if I choose to be a surgeon? a physician? -What major do I have to choose to become a cardiologist? Is there a best choice? -Do colleges want to see some sort of job experience or internship on resumes? If so, is there a minimum? -Would college care if I pass an AP class but fail the exam? Would it look bad on me? -What does a day as a cardiologist look like? For surgeons? Physicians? -Who do I go to if I want an internship? Do I have to find one on my own? -On average, how many years does it take to get my Masters and MD for Cardiology?

Being a current high school senior and going to college next year to study on a pre-medicine track, would you recommend majoring in a broad science such as Biology or Chemistry? How about a more specific major like Microbiology?

I am interested in working in the medical field. I don't have a set career in mind but I am looking at pursuing a career as a Physician or Physician Assistant. I am thinking about majoring in Biology but I was told by a friend of mine that it is better to major in a subject that is specific since it comes with more career options. He was telling me this based on his college experience. #college #biology #physician #careers #undergraduate #life-sciences #pre-medicine
