What was the hardest challenge you could face as a pediatrician?

I always loved being around kids. When I was younger I am made up my mind that I wanted to work in the medical field taking care of kids. I decided that I wanted to be a pediatrician. My back up plan would be to become a neonatal nurse. No matter what I want to work in the medical field. #college #medicine #pre-med #pediatrician

What should I do before I apply to colleges and related programs/scholarships in order to have a competitive application that stands out?

I am getting ready to go into my senior year of high school and want to make the most out of it before I apply to colleges and related programs/scholarships. I am interested in doing biochemistry and animal sciences, considering double majoring. My long term goal is to go to vet school. I already work at a vet clinic, have lots of leadership and volunteer experience, get good grades, have shadowed veterinarians, and take many science/health classes. I have also been very involved inside and outside of school in a variety of activities. Lately I’ve tried to find more opportunities related to animals. I feel like I’m in a good place for applying to colleges but is there anything I should be doing to stand out? I want to apply for competitive programs such as Purdue’s Veterinary Scholars Program.

How do you earn money while being in med school?

I am a senior in hs, and will be pursuing a biology bs/ pre med degree in college and after that want to get into a good med school, but since med school is quite expensive and I will certainly have to take student loans, how do i earn any good money in med school? For most other majors, you can do jobs after your undergraduate degree and get a better job if you get a master’s degree, which is usually completed in a maximum 6 years, but for med school i will be unemployed for a whopping 8 years! How do i earn money in that time to take care of my finances??

Which major is more beneficial if I want to be a neurologist, biology or health sciences?

I'm currently a senior in high school and I plan on doing community college with a 4 year college partnership after high school and the college I am interested in doing the partnership with offers either biology or health sciences for a bachelor in pre-med. After doing my 2 years at the community college (with the partnership) I plan on transferring to a 4 year college and getting a doctorate. So I just was wondering which area would be more beneficial if I want to go into the neuroscience field.

What is one advice that you would give Pre-Medical students as they are pursuing to go to medical school?

I am asking because the odds of adding medical school is a small ratio to students that actually take the pre-med prerequisites. With odds like this, many people refuse to take pre-med if they will not have a shot. I am curious to see what professionals think. #college #medicine #medical-school #healthcare #hospital-and-health-care #pre-med

What are some solid extracurriculars for medical?

I am currently a sophomore in highschool and I am wondering what are some solid extracurriculars that revolve around medical? I am currently in the IB programme and trying to maintain high grades, but I don’t think my grades solely will be able to get me into a good university. Another question is would it be better to focus on my grades and try to get them to near perfect with simple extracurriculars? Or should I maintain the grades I have now and add unique extracurriculars?
