As pre-med student, is it more beneficial to attend a cheap, less prestigious university or a more expensive university with a better pre-med program?

At one institution, I received a full-tuition scholarship, and it's close enough that I can live at home. However, it has limited pre-med opportunities outside of the curriculum. At the other institution, I received zero financial aid but was accepted to a prestigious honors pre-med program with multiple benefits (guaranteed freshman research positions, smaller classes, capstone program, etc.). I'm majoring in biochemistry in both, with plans to go to medical school to become a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Is it more worthwhile to avoid debt at a smaller school with fewer pre-med opportunities, or invest in a school with abundant opportunities?

How was your educational journey towards landing a Career in the medical field?

I am an Undergraduate Biology major who is fueled towards a career in the medical field. I have always had a passion for this area of study, but I think that I lack the knowledge that I need. My question is; How tedious was the process for landing a career within the medical field like a Doctor or a nurse? If there are any Forensic specialists here, could you describe the steps to reach to such level? What would you have done differently back then before landing your career? What advice would you give to me, an International Student wanting to pursue a career in the medical field?

What are your experiences going into medicine? I've been watching a lot of youtube videos lately, and everyone that I've watched so far spends practically the whole day studying. Can I get hospital volunteer hours virtually?

I want to be an ophthalmologist in the future, and I am currently a high school sophomore (10th grade). I know in pre-med/medical school admissions they ask a lot about what experience you have in the health care field, but I'm not sure how I can do that in the current times (the pandemic). I know the Mayo Clinic has some programs for high school students, and I'm applying for those - but are there other virtual opportunities that are currently available for this? Thank you! AP Chem or Ap Bio? Elective?

It is around the time of the year again where I have to pick my courses for next year and I am stumped. I want to be a doctor, so I have been focusing on classes to take to help me in the future. I love both biology and chemistry (I got A's for Bio freshman year and an A so far for Chemistry). I am also debating whether or not to take Anatomy or physics as my elective and either AP chem or AP bio as my main science course. (I also consider the option of taking a physics class offered by a school near me) If anyone could help me that would be great! Thank you! :) #pre-med #doctor #health #medicine #chemistry #biology

Does publishing research on healthcare systems and reforms to the American healthcare system look good for potential pre-med students?

I am a sophomore in high school, but I will be writing a research article on the economics of the American healthcare system and I would also provide some reforms we could make. This piece will likely be published on Google Scholar and other political/STEM research journals. I want to major in pre-medicine or biology, but also minor in something related to politics.
