I'm majoring in Computer Science. When should I try to find internships? Is it hard to get one?

I'm majoring in computer science and I feel like I've been doing well so far. I definitely want to expand on my knowledge through an internship but I'm afraid that I won't have enough experience to even be considered. I know most people tend to apply for internships in their junior or senior year of college but since community colleges tend to encourage them as well I wasn't sure so my question is about when I should apply for internships and if it's generally hard to get one in my field. #internships #programming #computer-science #college

What do video game companies look for when hiring their programmers? Is a bachelor's in computer science good enough?

So I want to program video games for a career and I'm already majoring in computer science and trying to learn a little about video game programming through Unity but I'm worried that there'll be a lot of extra hoops I have to jump through before I look hire-able. So I want to know what not just what I can do to stand out in the hiring process but also what video game companies expect to be common knowledge when hiring their programmers. Thanks! #programming #computer-programming #video-games #video-game-programming #computer-science #interviews

How to improve my CV as a computer Engineering student?

I'm a third year engineering student, and I studied different courses like (java, data structure, networking, mobile apps, AI, micro, electronics, and other topics ), but the issue is that when I want to apply for an internship or a research program especially internationally I have nothing to support my CV or personal statement just the projects I did in these courses which are not complex and my high GPA. Also, I always study online courses and try to improve my skills, but now at this time I feel it's not enough, so what kind of programs or activities should I participate in to improve ? #computer-engineering #computer-software #computer-hardware #artificial-intelligence #career-counseling #career-development #career-path #career-choice #engineering #programming #computer-programming #computer-networking

Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Software Engineering?

I want to pursue a career involving programming/ software development but i'm not sure what degree to study in university. The two courses I have found that would lead to a career in my desired field are Bachelor of Computer Science (http://www.waikato.ac.nz/study/subjects/computer-science) or Bachelor of Software Engineering (http://www.waikato.ac.nz/study/subjects/software-engineering). There is also the option of a Bachelors in Information Technology (https://www.wintec.ac.nz/study-at-wintec/courses/information-technology) but while looking for jobs available in New Zealand they all seemed to required degrees in Computer Science or Software engineering. Can someone recommend which of these would be the best career path? Or anything similar? #computer-software #computer #programming #it
