What education do I need to be a psych technician ?
Hi I’m a student in Arizona and I am wondering what education I would need to be a psych technician. I find it really interesting and wanting to know what schooling I need to be a psych technician.

I have a few mental illnesses and there's more I'm not diagnosed with. Can I become a psychiatrist or a psychologist, it's something I'm really interested in.
How involved in the treatment of patients are psychiatrists?
Do they simply diagnose and/or prescribe treatment? Or do they directly partake in the treatment process, too, like doing talk therapy? I'm looking into psychologists and psychiatrists and both are appealing to me, but I want to be able to be involved in the treatment and be able to aid in healing and/or coping of patients.
How does a psychologist compare and contrast to a psychiatrist?
I do know the education requirements and salaries are different, but what about the actual tasks? Can they both diagnose mental disorders or is that only the job of one? Can psychiatrists offer talk therapy in addition to medication, or do they just prescribe the meds? Which would be more direct in helping people through their mental illnesses?

What should I know about being a therapist or psychiatrist
I’m 16, I’ve wanted to be a therapist since I was 11. After having therapy myself I wanted to be able to help people like that. Know that even if they’re going through thought times I’m someone they can lean on. Even if they have no friends I would be there.

Which schools located on the north-western part of the U.S. has good psychological programs?
I’m looking to major in something similar to psychology or the function of the brain. But my home state is Montana and I don’t want to go too far from home. I haven’t decided a specific job that I wanted to go for yet I would just prefer if it’s related to the brain. It would also help if the school didn’t cost all too much.

Psychiatry and psychology is kinda want it to relate to. But with psychiatry, I don’t really want to be prescribing medication or tell them what they need to get better. It’s reading people’s reaction or body language to find the outcome of what they’re thinking that I’m interested in. Although, I would really prefer if it included less years for me to be in college, maybe four years max. If the pay was high that would be nice too.
What job would include mental health and the function of the brain but has less schooling years?
I’ve been researching jobs that’s related to psychiatric since that’s really close to the type of field I want to work on. But I would prefer being in college for two years, maybe four if needed.
What would you say is your success rate for family therapy? Is there a set approach for every situation to some degree or do you come up with a different tactic for every unique situation?

What is medschool like? What is undergrad like when you are going to go to medschool after?
How are the classes taught? What is expected from me in medschool? Give me a day to day life in detail. These have all been my biggest questions for the past 2 years and I don't ever know who to ask because I have never known or had an opportunity to ask someone who was or is going to be in college for surgery. I'm 17 and im going into my senior year in 3 months, so this is all right around the corner. I am almost certain that I have clinical executive dysfunction. How on earth do I succeed with that?! I'm neurodivergent and have severe ADHD and the unknown is so terrifying when becoming a cardiovascular surgeon is my literal dream since I could read. I am not a great student at all. I was homeschooled until 9th grade, and it was a very laid back type of homeschooling so I didn't have to stick to deadlines or really have any assignments. I just really read books on topics I was interested in. I'm bad a math...like real bad, and I go to a prestigious private school. But it's small and liberal. My school doesn't teach traditional stuff. They teach the type of school work that takes hours to complete one homework assignment and it graded on arbitrary concepts. I'm really good at science but I have never gotten an A in my science class because my science teacher teaches her classes phenomenon based. It's not all memorization. It's a very understanding and lenient environment. I also have a horrible, debilitating dopamine screen addiction that I have been teying to break for 3 years now. But im still struggling. How do I do college and how do I get to where I want to be with all of my issues, and what the hell is college? Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

As someone who's seen a few psychologists growing up, I've noticed how difficult it is for psychologists to be able to help patients if the patients aren't comfortable or don't feel safe enough to want to be helped, or provide enough information to be able to be helped adequately enough
