Med-Peds as a researcher?

I am interested in med-peds but I also want to do research. I have read that med-peds physicians usually choose one specialty over the other in their practice, and that those who do both are usually hospitalists. Can anyone talk about med-peds physicians being researchers while practicing both specialties? Obviously, more time would be spent on research but is it doable? Can hospitalists be committed to research?

What can I do to research and travel?

I’m leaning towards going into the STEM field and researching DNA. Maybe even research with psychology, nothing is concrete right now but I’m really interested in researching. But I also want to travel around the world while researching so my question is how can incorporate the two? I specifically want to go to Brazil but anywhere could work. #research #science #researcher #psychology #travel

How to incorporate undergraduate research into college life?

I’m a rising senior researching ways to get involved around campus. One thing that I notice is that it is frequent for undergrads to assist in research with their professors, or to conduct their own. I was wondering how do students manage to balance their academic and social life while doing research. I am also confused on how one can have the opportunity to conduct research as a freshman in the first place. For context, I plan on majoring in one of the sciences and applying to PA school. #researcher #researcher #college #undergraduate #research #JULY20

The most exciting part of research to me is going out in the field and working with animals and in the environment, but I'm concerned that in my career I'll get stuck analyzing data and not doing field work. Any advice?

I'm going into Ecology & Environmental Biology and I love working with animals on the field and studying animal cognition in the wild or at a sanctuary. However, it seems to me that professionals in biology often spend their time analyzing data in the lab or writing grants, which I would fine with doing some of, but I really want my focal point to be working with my actual subjects. I want to know if this is possible or if I'm being too idealistic. #biology #research #higher-education #ecology #researcher #animal-work #ecologist #field-work

Is the career of a medical researcher difficult?

I am an incoming college freshman that is debating what kind of career I want to strive for. I am looking for a career that can help people and that offers an enjoyable work environment with new and interesting things to do each day. Ideally, it would be related to the medical field. As of now, I am looking for information about medical scientists who develop new medicines or discover cures for illnesses. I would like more insight on these careers as most of my search results are broad. #medicine #biology #scientist #researcher #cell-biology
