Are SAT and ACT scores more relevant than GPA and overall grades when it comes to college admissions?

Since a lot of high schools weight their GPAs differently, and since SATs and ACTs are standardized, I was wondering which aspect makes more of a difference when applying to colleges. #testing #SAT #GPA #college #college-admissions

What are the defining factors colleges look for when applying to college?

When looking at colleges, they show the GPA and SAT scores that are required and that’s all. Some will say they look for how involved you are in school and your community. I just want a clear statement of what most colleges want to see from me. #applying #requirements-management #college #college-admissions #gpa #sat

I'm eligible for merit scholarships in every category but SAT scores. My highest score is 1260, which isn't bad, but its not enough for most scholarships. Any tips on finding other scholarships?

My SAT scores are the only low point in my college resume. Otherwise, I graduate high school with a full AA degree from dual enrollment, 3 varsity sports for 4 years (captain for 2), member of National Honor Society, 16/691 rank with straight A's, as well as holding 2 jobs, an internship, and over 150 hours of community service. I always assumed that would be enough but the SAT scores have prevented me from getting most scholarships #SAT #graduate-scholarships

What are the best SAT and/or ACT prep programs there are?

A lot of people achieve success in many different ways but I think the way that will most benefit me is some sort of prep program that doesn't cost too much (otherwise I can't afford it) and it doesn't matter if it is in person or online. Either way I am looking for a prep program that will help me get a really high score on the SAT or the ACT. Any advice is appreciated especially if the person themselves have gone through the program. #sat #high-school-students #act #test-planning #prep-programs #test-prep

What are some ways I can make my junior year of high school less overbearing?

I am a high school student going into my third-year of high school. As you are no longer a newbie in high school, you would think that it would be easier to handle both school and the rest of your life since you should have gotten the hang of things already. Unfortunately, it only gets harder. I have heard many stories and experiences of recent junior year high school graduates. All of these students warned me. They warned me of the upcoming horror and apprehension that the junior year of high school brings about. There are college applications, the SAT, the ACT, sports, extracurricular activities, even more challenging courses, etc. I have already piled on Cross Country to my first quarter of the school year. I am not sure if this was a good decision or not either. If there are any special tips you can give me to survive junior year, I will be happy to read them! #sports #high-school #classes #high-school-classes #sat #act #junior-year #survival

How should I start preparing for college?

Following my previous question, I would like to know how I can prepare for college. I am a third-year high school student who is indeed outside the loop of college preparation. I am wondering how I can plan ahead and what I can do to make it easier for me to apply to colleges. What are the things I need when applying to colleges and what do I have to accomplish this year and next year before I graduate? I come from a second generation immigrated family, so least to say, nobody in my family knew what is required during the transition from high school to college. My older brother, who is four years older than me, struggled during his high school years because nobody had told him that he had to take the SATs! Please let me know how I can prepare for college so that my advancement to college is much easier for me. #college #high-school #sat #preparation #college-readiness
