I’m Megan I’m a senior at Rogers senior high MN. I am also in AVID so we have been looking at school but I am stuck on where to go. I want to do a 2 year 2 year program, getting my generals done then transferring. I am looking for advice. I also don’t know what subject or grade I want to teach yet.

How difficult will it be to accumulate hours, without a gap year for PA school?
I am a high school senior planning to be a physician assistant. I have been reading that the majority of PAs take a gap year or two to work enough hours for a competitive to PA school. I have also read that some worked their hours in their four years of undergrad. Initially, I was planning to work my hours in undergrad because I just want to go straight to PA school. Now, I am thinking about the quality of my college experience. I want to be able to enjoy my social life, while participating in a handful of extracurriculars (orchestra, cultural clubs, games, etc...), and still maintaining a high GPA for PA school. I am thinking that this might be very difficult and bad for my mental health if I try to add on about 2,000 hours of PCE/HCE hours in four years. However, if it is possible to do all these activities while getting my hours I want to pursue the challenge. My biggest mistake with high school was waiting too long to begin things thus the depth of my application for college was nonexistent. I am an entering freshman for college but I do believe that there may be things that I can begin to do now so that I can begin to shape my medical school application. I am set on the path of becoming a medical surgeon, and medical school is the next big milestone. Applying to undergraduate universities took a big toll on my mental health as the results were not what I expected. Prereqs for Med School?
I know that medical schools typically require you to have one year of biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. Would Anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, or microbiology cover the biology part? (I'm taking all of them) Also, if I end up not taking a lab for half of semester in organic chemistry will that mess everything up? The lab for my organic chemistry class conflicted with my schedule, so I was unable to take it. Also, how important is it that I take 2 semesters of physics and calculus?
