What are some tips for a beginning entrepreneur to learn about branding

I am a grad student starting a health and environmentally conscious skin care line and need to figure out what my company will embody. What are some suggestions I can get to help guide me towards my ideal customer, what my brand stands for and how it's different than the rest. How can students start up an organization?

I am planning to make an organization where people can support online learning, like Khan Academy, edX, and Coursera. I already have a plan of how to make a website and stuff, but I don't know if this is an organization, company, or charity. This plan also involves donating money. Right now I just don't know how to make this plan into a reality. I don't know where I should start. #online-learning #start-ups #self-starter

How do you identify what product you could possibly sell in a local market?

According to a little homework I've done, reading online about what it takes to become an entrepreneur, you don't need to have a fresh, or ground-breaking idea to become a rich entrepreneur (Wal-Mart, Starbucks). I would like to do something that correlates with my passion for all things good for people, the earth and animals (e.g. sustainable vegan coffee shop?). What are some tips for identifying local market needs (other than creativity)? P.S. I am located in the Greater Seattle Area! #business #marketing #entrepreneurship #business-development #marketing-and-advertising #marketing-strategy #start-ups #market-research

If I'm MISERABLE at college then what should I do?

“The world is in perpetual motion, and we must invent the things of tomorrow... Act with audacity.” – Madame Clicquot. I'm starting to become less risk averse and I may drop out or take a leave of absence from college because I hate it. I know it's easier to get a job with a degree but it is possible to still make it without one. If I'm interested in communications or marketing (don't know what I want to do) is it possible to intern with a company and then work my way up? I'm interested in how people think and I understand American culture very well. I'm also good at understanding group dynamics. I can't imagine myself in college for the next three years and I've tried rationalizing my situation because I'm so desperate but it just isn't working!... Thanks. #business #psychology #marketing #entrepreneurship #higher-education #sociology #start-ups #dropout

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for a big corporation vs a smaller company or even startup?

Hi! My name is Anina and I'm a high school senior interning at Career Village. I'm curious to learn what influenced your decision to work for a big corporation over a smaller one (or vice versa). We don't hear as much about how people go about finding/selecting the companies they want to work for in school, just about finding a career in general. Can you tell me what made you want to work at the company you do? What are the best things about working at a bigger company and what are the best things about working at a smaller one? What about a startup? Thank you very much. #business #human-resources #startups #start-ups
