How to deal with being overwhelmed and procrastination in University ?
Hi, I'm a university student, currently taking foundation courses. All my coursework are assignments and essays based. I find that when I think of an assignment that I have to do, I think that the assignment is too difficult and that it will take hours for me to complete it. When I finally get the courage to sit down and do it (usually assisted with a friend or because the deadline is literally in an hour or in minutes), I realize it's not that bad, sometimes I even enjoy it. I just want to learn how to get over that hurdle of being overwhelmed and to cease the thoughts that make the coursework bigger than it actually is.
How do I establish self-discipline?

Ways to cope with anxiety in college?
I struggle a lot with anxiety in school, especially when I get stressed out. It's been so bad my junior year that I had to drop a lot of extra-curriculars and one of my harder classes. Although it's been slowly getting better, I'm very concerned about the toll it will take on me once I hit college. What do colleges offer in the way of assistance for mental health issues like anxiety, and how beneficial are they? #college #mentalhealth #anxiety #anxiety-management #stress
What would you do if you loved your job but hated your work environment? Would you leave? How would you cope?
For example, I've worked as a copy editor and/or copywriter for both my high school yearbook and college newspaper, and while I wouldn't say that I've LOVED journalism, I do find it enjoyable at times. I would prefer to be doing creative writing, but I genuinely enjoy all types of writing, and I've cherished all the times that I was able to have touching experiences and interesting conversations with people that I wouldn't have talked to if it weren't for my job as a copywriter forcing me to conduct interviews. However, in both cases, I've hated my actual work environment. There are so many things that I resent, like how I know I'm perfectly capable of doing my job and I'm probably one of the best writers on the team, but I'm not treated like it and my work isn't valued. I never missed a deadline when I wrote for the yearbook, and I even picked up articles that other writers couldn't complete in time when we were in a time crunch, but no one ever thanked me for it. Honestly, I don't think that being thanked or feeling appreciated is too much to expect; these should be essential components of a healthy work environment. But when these components are in fact missing, what should you do? Should you quit your job? Sometimes it's not that easy. And if you choose not to quit and just stick it out, how do you cope? How do you stay sane? When I don't feel valued for the work that I do, it's extremely difficult for me to find motivation to keep up the quality of my work. I mean, if I don't feel that me or my work are valued, what's the point? How to overcome thoughts about "not being productive" during holidays and breaks?
Hi, During the first year of high school, I began having thoughts during winter, spring or summer break about how I'm not being "productive", till now I still get those thoughts and I'm in university. It stresses me out and refrains me from fully enjoying my holiday/break. I'm afraid that these thoughts will continue after I graduate and have a job. Common phrases that pop up in my head are: -> You should get ahead of the curriculum. -> You should do online courses to gain more skills for the future. -> You should be productive, this isn't being productive. -> You have done nothing all day. -> You've got so many assignments upcoming.

how do you deal with college? seriously?
I'm in college right now, and I do well (I have a GPA above 3.7) However, handling these classes are hard. Not the classes itself, but taking 5 classes at the same time. I can manage, in my mind, four courses at a time, Yet I always seem to never really mind the last one. This is not a grade issue but a stress issue. Especially with doing projects 2-3 days before the deadline + passing, but feeling like you lost 70 hours of sleep. How do you stay on top of 5 classes without feeling stressed?

How should nurses handle their workplace stress? As a nurse, it will be important for us to have a clear explanation of how to handle the emotionally and physically demanding aspects of our job.
During my nurse training, I attended a seminar where the speaker encouraged nurses to develop and maintain habits that support our health. He recommended finding a physical activity or hobby to pursue as a way to reduce stress. I took his advice and found a gym that offers a variety of classes, so there is always something new in a nursing job to try. I also volunteer at children hospitals. I find that these two hobbies effectively relieve my stress. #july20, #jobs , #stress , #career, #nurse .
Can a student recover from failing a college class?
How many classes can a student fail before they are not able to succeed? Can a student recover from a few failed classes after retaking them and getting a better grade? What happens when you take a class that cannot be retaken because it is above 3000, but you need it to succeed? Can I still make a 3.5-4.0 GPA with failed classes that have been retaken? These are the questions I have as a student who went through failing a couple of classes because of being stressed my first semester and now trying to make up for it. I have never failed classes before until University and have been an almost straight A student all through HS and community college. Now I'm struggling. I need reassurance of whether I can make it through college and make the good grades and high GPA I want, but with full honesty. #college #grades #gpa #classes #failure #help #mental-health #recover #recovery #student #student-development #freshmen #sophomore #class #stress #stress-management #university
