How does one determine the amount of loan that they need to apply for?

I recently got accepted into college, however, my financial aid award does not cover my entire balance. I would be left with $11,604/year and was wondering, if worst comes to worst, how much money would I need to apply for? For example, would I need to apply for a $12,000 loan or a $48,000 loan? This is assuming that my balance owed remains at $11,604 for my entire bachelor degree and I could not seem to find a clear answer online. Thank you for your time!! #college #money #student-loans

When choosing a college what should I prefer, better reputation or better price?

So I'm pretty smart and have a GPA high enough to get me into a pretty solid college, but I'm worried about the cost and the student loans I would amass. So I was wondering how I would find a balance between both a good education and a good price, but not suffering in either, and in a worst-case scenario, which one should I pay more attention to, college reputation or the price tag? #college #finance #student-loans

Does it make sense to borrow money without getting a student loan?

The financial aid package for my graduate program includes only direct unsubsidized graduate loans. These loans have high interest rates and bad conditions. My tuition is very expensive and I am not receiving enough scholarship money to cover tuition, even if I get a high-paying part-time job. My parents have offered to cover some of the tuition by taking a loan through our bank, so that I do not have to take out so much in student loans. Does this make sense? Or do student loans come with special conditions or protections that regular loans don't have? #tuition #money #student-loans #loans #money-management #debt #college #financial-aid

Is a doctoral degree worth it?

I want to major in Nuclear Medicine and become a doctor/physician in the field, but I'm unsure if it's worth taking a large student loan for med school. My family isn't the wealthiest and I do not desire to spend my parents' money on anything past a four-year university. I'm willing to work hard for the degree, but I wonder if the loan, time, and effort outweigh the positives of the career. #career #student-loans #medicine #doctor

Advice to Avoid too much Debt

Many people have told me that going to medical school will most likely get you into debt after. I wanted to ask: - how do I know what type of loan to get? - will I be able to take more loans after each semester? -if I don’t use all my loans and I return some, will I be able to get a refund for what I didn’t use? -what is the average student loan interest rate? -Which is better, private or student loans? -what are some “unknown” scholarships that I can get? -as an African American, what are some scholarships I can get?

How to go about getting student loans

I wasn't able to fit into any economics classes in high school and am now freaking out about what sources to use for receiving student loans. I know that I am going to need something as my current scholarships aren't fully covering my education and I currently have no money to pay and my parents are not supporting me financially. I don't know which loans would be best suited to avoid debt later on, I don't know what rates are best, I don't know if I should trust variable rates, and I'm honestly just so clueless, so a quick run-down about how to approach this would be wonderful. #finance #economics #scholarships #student-loans #loans
