Any advice to get into Programming/Coding?

I am currently a new student in Job corps and i'm hoping to get a career in the IT field that involves programming/coding like a Web Developer or Software Developer but I also have no experience with it and would like some advice/insight on this career path. Does coding actually take high math comprehension to understand well? How long does it take for someone to fluently learn the coding language? Also what are some base rules to keep in mind about coding or programming? #technology #programming #computer-programming #coding

How should I independently prepare for a future degree and career in computer science while still in high school?

I'm currently a junior in high school, doing IB. Most of my IB subjects are irrelevant to CS (English, French, chemistry, biology, philosophy, psychology) except for math. In math, I am learning algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, probability and statistics, and calculus. So aside from this, what can I do independently that will better prepare me and help me succeed in computer science? I've already seen long lists of online resources, but they're confusing and overwhelming. I just want a simple and straightforward roadmap consisting of (online) resources that will help me develop skills applicable to any discipline in CS (data science, cybersecurity, web development, software engineering/development, etc.) In addition, I would like efficient resources or courses that wouldn't take up much time, because I have a demanding workload. Thanks in advance! #computer-science #technology #science #university #high-school #software #data-science #math #cybersecurity #online-resources #roadmap #university-prep

How necessary is it to get a college degree for web development or UI/UX design?

I am a current high school senior considering whether or not I want to dedicate four year’s time and go into debt for a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in design. I am hoping to get online certificates and take online courses instead as I’ve heard the computer science/design fields hire mostly based on experience and portfolio rather than education. If I were to not attend college, what are my chances of obtaining a good job as a web developer or UI/UX designer? Would it take forever for me to find a job in these fields without a degree? #design #computer #technology #computer-science #uxdesign #uidesign #user-experience #graphic-design #technology #web-development
