Best Military College Option?
I want to become an officer in the military. I don't want to enlist. ROTC only pays the last two years of my college. That being said, what's my best option? 1.) Attend college then go to OCS: (Would attend college with my friends out of state, but the college is more expensive) 2.) Attend ROTC in college: (Attend in-state=super cheap, plus I might get a band scholarship) 3.) Military Academy: (Completely free, but hard to get into) 4.) The Citadel- Corps of Cadets (ROTC): (They're interested in me, but they're expensive) #college #military #finance #money-management #money-management #navy #high-school #college #engineering #air-force #military #engineer #marines #any #career #navy #fighter-pilot #marine #armed-forces #aviation #army #technology #physics #pilot #math #tech #biology #science #hashtag #airline #raptor #airline-industry #aerospace-engineering #mechanical #aeronautics #computer-science #chemistry #robotics #college-major #schedule #mechanical-engineering #band #biomedical-engineering #career-pathway #information-technology #pathway #medicine #english #ap #writing #acting #education #community-management #first-responder #author #civil-air-patrol #college-admissions #rotc #jrotc #state #university
Should I do an apprenticeship?
Recently there's been an apprentice program for a train company. The way their program works is that I would do it every other day. Basically, I go to school one day, and the apprenticeship another day. I don't know if I should do it because then I would have to quit all of my electives (Band, NJROTC, etc). My school only has four periods in a day, so I would only be able to take core classes. I want to be an engineer, preferably in Robotics or Aerospace. The program could be beneficial, but it's not a career that I would want to stay in, but I would gain experience, in assembly, manufacturing, and electronics. Plus it pays $17/hour. What's my best option? Thanks! #engineering #engineer #college #college #mechanical-engineering #aerospace-engineering #biomedical-engineering #career #robotics #band #high-school #schedule #career-pathway #pathway #engineering #college #engineer #high-school #airline-industry #any #fighter-pilot #navy #armed-forces #aviation #army #raptor #biology #science #career #pilot #tech #technology #marine #air-force #marines #airline #hashtag #military #math #college-major #aeronautics #computer-science #physics #mechanical #chemistry #aerospace-engineering #robotics #any #information-technology #technology #medicine #information-technology
Is it better to take high school classes that are fun, or beneficial to college and career?
I want to become an engineer (Robotics or Aerospace Engineering). Currently, I'm left with a choice of taking classes like Mandarin Chinese (which would look good on resumes, and college applications), or classes like Engineering Principles, Electronics, and Robotics. I don't really want to take a language, but it could be beneficial. I plan on serving in the military (preferably Marines as a combat engineer officer), and translators get paid more (like $300 more or something a month). Or I can take classes like CTE and STEM classes, and complete a career pathway in engineering that is apparently recognized as a credential of value. I'm just curious as to what would look better on college applications, and job resumes (Bilingual or credentials)? Also, if I were to complete the career pathway, I would have to quit band. My teacher says that he could probably get me a scholarship for band though. Is it still worth it to complete a pathway? Finally, if I were to keep band, I wouldn't be able to complete the pathway, but I would still be able to take Engineering and Robotics. What' s my best option? Thanks! #engineering #engineer #college #college #mechanical-engineering #aerospace-engineering #biomedical-engineering #career #robotics #band #high-school #schedule #career-pathway #pathway #engineering #college #engineer #high-school #airline-industry #any #fighter-pilot #navy #armed-forces #aviation #army #raptor #biology #science #career #pilot #tech #technology #marine #air-force #marines #airline #hashtag #military #math #college-major #aeronautics #computer-science #physics #mechanical #chemistry #aerospace-engineering #robotics #any #information-technology #technology #medicine

Trying to shift career to software engineering at age of 30. Any advice?
After browsed many pages of questions i barely found q&as about career shift. I would like to throw one. I am a environmental engineer worked for 5 years with a master degree. In recent two years i started feeling more and more interested to the computer science and coding, especially in machine learning. I started taught myself coding in python with online algorithm classes and textbook. I tried school 42's intence c programming and quite enjoyed it. I also glanced over very basic fullstack skills with django and flask. As the biggest investment, I spend a ton of time on math, statistics, probabilities, machine learning, and deep learning. I am now fairly comfortable replicating kaggle kernels, with good understanding and intuition behind common algorithms like xgb, cnn and vanilla rnn. After two years of learning, i now am thinking of landing a data-oriented job in tech field. What kind of positions in industry is a good shot for me, their levels, functions, etc? What should my resume be like for those positions, what projects, education, experience? I am open to any tech roles. #technology #engineering #careershift Thanks in advance!
I would like to work in tech but I am not very good at maths
