How do I find more hobbies to expand my scholarship applicability?
I'm only in 9th grade, so I know I have time, but I'm starting to think about college scholarships. I'm on a swim team but I'm not particularly fast compared to kids my age and even younger. I'm a straight A student but I know scholarships will require a little more than just academic success. How can I expand? Swim takes up a lot of time and I love it, so I'm not willing to sacrifice that, but I know I need to expand a little. I'm interested in musical theatre and singing, but struggling to find theatre opportunities for teens who are newer to the stage. How can I find something that'll work for me and make me a well rounded kid who's more applicable for scholarships?
I am hoping to go into theater as a profession, what are the best steps to take in highschool to help me get to that point?
I am going into sophomore year, I finished freshman year with a 3.8 GPA. I have been in 2 musicals so far. First one, highschools production, only freshman with a role. Second one, a lead role at a community theater, and I auditioned for a supporting role. I don't really have the money for singing lessons, but I've done choir. And I'm taking advanced acting and intro to dance at my school. Thank you! :)

I want to get a bfa - how hard is it to get into a program?
I’m 14 and want to pursue acting as a career, particularly Shakespeare. My plan right now is to do 5-7 plays a year during high school, do the ESU Shakes comp, create Shakes clubs where I can start getting directing experience, continue with my outside of school acting coach, singing as well, and I’ll probably start doing musical theater dance. I’m not trying to brag or anything, just want to give whoever answers this question a better understanding, but I’ve been told I’m very talented by most people who see me perform. How hard would it be to get into a bfa program if I audition for like 15 of them? I know I shouldn’t be worrying about it right now but I panic about this daily 😅

Should I do theater or something more stable?
I am a Freshmen and I am starting to think about what I want to major in. I love to do musical theater and want to major in it, but I know that it is very competitive, so I am worried that I am not talented enough. Also, it's not the most stable career path, so should I do something more profitable and secure instead? #theater #musicaltheater #theatre #preformingarts #career-paths
