How can I look for more scholarships?

I'm looking for some scholarships I can sign up for. My tuition is already paid for, but not my room and board. I need more scholarships to pay for it since my family doesn't have the money to pay for it, and I'm not allowed to have a job until I move out of my grandmother's house.

Should I be saving the money I earn for college?

I'm an upcoming junior in high school and I work a minimum wage job. It's more of a part-time job or internship, but I've been saving most of my paycheck for college because I'm almost terrified of not having enough money to pay for it. I've been stressing over finances and scholarships and I haven't even started my junior year in high school. But a part of me wants to save the money just in case I need it when I'm older, although there's another part of me that just wants to be a kid and spend most of my paycheck on things I like.

Is going to college worth it when I can’t start my career right out of high school?

How would I go about this situation? I want to be a real estate agent. I can start when I am 18 and get my license and a mentor. College isn’t required but I feel like I should go. BUT I don’t want to be in debt… Is going to college worth it when I can start my career right out of high school?

I'm a college student and I work in school, even though they don't pay me that good. It enough to buy some snacks and it helps me pay some part of my tuition. Since my University shutdown and we're doing online classes, I can't afford to pay the rest of my fall semester class. I'm looking for a job, that will be remotely or anything I can do to pay my school fees. #COVID19 #college #money #financial-planning #JOB #HELP #FOOD #REMOTELY #WORK #STUDENT #TUITION #technology #scholarship

I'm looking to ED to NYU, will there be a greater financial aid package in ED or RD?

I was born in New york but currently live in Nepal. Since NYU is so expensive, and my household income is around $40,000 a year, how much do you think their aid will be if I ED this year? I live in Nepal so i really have no idea about scholarship programes that i could apply to to afford NYU, if anyone could please help me out with that. Is NYU recommended for undergraduates or not worth it considering the heavy tuition fees? How much debt is okay to be in? Nepali college counsellors really dont help with that at all. #NYU #tuition #scholarship #NYUCAS #sttudentloan

Why do colleges assume parents are going to be able to pay for college and suggest they get federal loans?

I have applied at two colleges and been accepted. The first college I did not qualify for any out of state scholarships and they suggested I get a Stafford Loan and my parents get a loan for $33,000 as a Federal loan. My parents are not able to do this and they will not be able to assist me with college finances, with the exception of a minimal amount. Why do colleges assume parents are paying and not give other options for covering expenses? #financial-aid #tuition

What are the creative methods people used to pay for college?

I'm wondering how people were able to pay for college. As a rising college freshmen, I'm anxious about how to pay for my own college tuition. And I desperately want to figure out a way for me to attend college without burdening my parents or myself. I already know about scholarships and financial aid. But is there a plausible way to pay for college. I haven't gotten much luck with scholarships. #justabrokestudent #finance #debt #student-debt #tuition

Is Starting College in the Spring a Good Idea?

So I moved with my family this past November to another state and might not be eligible for in-state tuition for the colleges here based on specific state statutes. My parents suggested starting college in the spring semester (2017) in order to get in-state classification but I'm not sure if this would work out. I already know that I would have to "catch up" with classes in the summer and would miss prerequisites that were offered in the fall. In addition, I know that it would be more difficult to establish friendships. Being that I have already been to 3 different high schools in my teen years, I was wondering if this would be a good option for me or if I should just start this fall and pay out-of-state tuition just for the first semester. (Just a quick reminder that I am not really interested in a gap year, since I already know what I'd like to do in college and am ready to go!) #college #money-management #tuition

How to handle high tuition rates for an out-of-state student?

I plan on transferring from a community college to a university. However, I am unsure as to how to transfer my credits and making sure that everything that I have done until now aligns. I am also concerned about the high tuition rate and how to compensate for it. For example, when I should be taking loans and when I should be changing some life choices and how often I should be making those decisions to pay for tuition. #tuition #outofstate #savingmoney

Are you bound to a future of low income if your current financial situation limits your college options?

Growing up, I was the daughter of a single mother. Our financial situation could be classified as the grey area between poverty and lower middle class. Now, as I embark onto University life, my parents cannot financially support me. This leaves me choosing between community college and in state local college. My dreams are of Stanford, but my budget is of a junior college. Am I bound to a life of middle to lower middle class income through the restrictions of my post high school education. #lowincome #tuition #ivyleague #communitycollege #instate #financial-aid #financial #university #dreams #journalism #education

Does it make sense to borrow money without getting a student loan?

The financial aid package for my graduate program includes only direct unsubsidized graduate loans. These loans have high interest rates and bad conditions. My tuition is very expensive and I am not receiving enough scholarship money to cover tuition, even if I get a high-paying part-time job. My parents have offered to cover some of the tuition by taking a loan through our bank, so that I do not have to take out so much in student loans. Does this make sense? Or do student loans come with special conditions or protections that regular loans don't have? #tuition #money #student-loans #loans #money-management #debt #college #financial-aid
