Passion or money?

Just from the question itself many people would have chosen passion. However, my question to that is at what point do you realize that something is your passion? Do you grow attached to the subject? What if what you’re passionate about can’t be done because of expenses, then what? When I say money what I really mean is getting it over with. “It” being school, college, education. Would you rather spend a majority of your time and money into a major that guarantees a happy wallet but not a happy mind? Or spend the exact same amount into a happy mind, but not a happy wallet? Passion is important, yes. But at the end of the day there are bills and expenses that need to be covered. There are parents that want to see you grow financially. There are jobs that won’t give you vacation and if you do, well since competition is high, your job is practically lost. I may seem in over my head but these pressures as to which route to take or to find middle ground has been haunting me for as long as I can remember. #education #college #undecided #pressure

For someone who doesn’t know what they want or expect from their future, what advice can you give?

I’ve never really had a professional interest in subjects. Yes, I enjoy leaning about the unknown so astronomy and marine biology would seem too of my list but, is that what is meant for me? Though I enjoy the subject, I’m not sure if that’s the path I should be taking. #undecided #astronomy #marine #biology #unknown #advice

How does one know what they’re meant to be?

I always get the question on “what do you want to work as?” and my response is always “I’m not sure yet.” Im tired of giving that response and want to truly know what I’m best to specialize in. I’m honestly scared to go to college without having any clue on what I want to be for the rest of my life. Everyday is one less day I have to decide and if I take too long, I’ll have to settle for something I really hate. #undecided #advice #scaredofcollage

Do You Think I Should Settle or Do Something I Love?

I've been on the fence as to whether I should pursue something I love for my career, something in the arts like photography and dance, or if I should pursue a career that I can at least put up with so I can support myself enough to be able to do the things I love? I'm torn and I am horrible at making decisions so any tips or advice or anecdotes are greatly appreciated! #art #photography #undecided #dance #settle

How and where would I find internships specific to the career fields I'm interested in?

I've been interested in both the law and medical fields for a long time now. I've been debating between becoming things like a pediatrician or family physician, a detective, private investigator, or crime scene investigator/forensics. All of these specific fields would take a lot of schooling and training to get into and I want to be as sure as possible on which one I end up getting into. Volunteering and internships is the best way I could think of narrowing down these interests and going from interested in to knowing that's what I want to get into. The problem is I don't know how to do this or even know where to start. How would I even go about this? What would be the best way of finding out about opportunities like this? Where should I start looking? Do you have any other ideas regarding this? Thank you! #Undecided # Ready for the Future

NP or CRNA?

If one wants to further their education in the field of nursing, which specialty is best? As a nurse practitioner (NP), you’re able to diagnose and treat patients like a doctor but at a lower salary. As certified nurse anesthetist (CRNA), you are able to administer anesthesia like an anesthesiologist. Both have their pros and cons. CRNA gets paid a lot more but are stuck in the operating room. NP are paid less but have more autonomy. Which one should I choose? #med #medicine #nurse #undecided

At what point in your college experience is it best to confirm your major?

I like many other high schoolers am not 100% confident of the career I want to pursue yet, but I also do not want to end up spending any extreme time in college than I must. I am afraid that if I do not go in with a set plan, I will not be able to finish in four years. #undecided #whentodecide #finishintime
