Hi there! I’m currently an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and hope to find an internship sometime during the upcoming school year. However, I don’t have a ton of work/volunteer experience and I was wondering where I could find some job/work opportunities. What is a good background to have as a Systems Engineer?

I came across a job description for a Systems Engineer, and it seems like something I might be interested in. I have a lot of on-the-job experience with project management and communication, and I'll be graduating with a bachelor's degree in physics next year. Is this an appropriate background for a systems engineer? What else can I do to determine if this career is right for me? #physics #undergrad #undergraduate #systems-engineer #project-management #engineering

What are your future goals in life?

My future goals in life are to complete my college egducation and get my Bachelors degree, get into graduate school and work my way to become a Clinical Psychologist. These are the biggest life long goals that I have set up to complete, and I am working immensely on trying to achieve them all. I have high hopes that I will get to that point in life where I am satisfied with what I’m doing and am going to be enjoying what I’m doing. In the mean time I also plan on having my own charity organization which will help those less fortunate in need, the homeless, funding low-income students on achieving their academic goals to get where they want, and to work worldwide on aiding the lower developed countries in providing them with they can’t receive such as food, clothing etc. I have an profound view on what I want my future to goals to look and I plan on fulfilling each one of them. #college #undergraduate #essay #goals #future #helping #askquestion #motivation #psychology #clinicalpsychology

I want to become a lawyer, what program should I study in university?

Interested in pursuing law as a career, but there are so many options to study under in university. Should I just choose whatever program is most "GPA-friendly" or risk a slightly lower GPA for a program I'm genuinely interested in? #law #undergraduate #career-details #personal-development

Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) programs in California?

Hello! I am an undergraduate Psychology student in my last year of undergrad. I will be applying to in-state graduate schools this fall, but I worry about how competitive MFT programs are. As a first generation student, I’m worried that my experiences are not good enough. The only relevant experience I have is interning abroad with a social worker conducting therapy in a vulnerable population, being a peer resource mentor for psychology students on campus, and peer mentor for students with diverse cultural backgrounds (with emphasis on mental health and well-being). I have a 3.7 GPA and want to apply to CSU MFT programs. I don’t have a lot of time to devote to other extra curricular at the moment as I am currently holding two jobs as a peer mentor. What was your experience like applying to MFT programs? What were your stats? Did you take a gap year (if so, what was it like)? What programs would you recommend? How was your MFT program? Where are you now? I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions! I want to a bit more prepared, so thank you for helping me out :) #MFT #marriagefamilytherapy #marriagefamilytherapist #LMFT #psycchology #psychologygrad #psychgrad #psychgraduate #psychgraduates #psychologygraduate #psychologygraduates #psychstudent #psychologystudent #psychstudents #psychcologystudents #gradschool #graduateschool #applyingtogradschool #counseling #therapy #familytherapy #csu #csun #sfsu #csus #csulb #csuf #csudh #usf #pepperdine #therapist #therapists

As pre-med student, is it more beneficial to attend a cheap, less prestigious university or a more expensive university with a better pre-med program?

At one institution, I received a full-tuition scholarship, and it's close enough that I can live at home. However, it has limited pre-med opportunities outside of the curriculum. At the other institution, I received zero financial aid but was accepted to a prestigious honors pre-med program with multiple benefits (guaranteed freshman research positions, smaller classes, capstone program, etc.). I'm majoring in biochemistry in both, with plans to go to medical school to become a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Is it more worthwhile to avoid debt at a smaller school with fewer pre-med opportunities, or invest in a school with abundant opportunities?

What degree would suit my needs best between business and something in the arts?

I'm a multiple business owner at just 20 years old but still in the early stages with both of them. One is a photography business and the other is a online media website and I write the bulk of the content on the site. I have intensions of opening a skincare business in the near future as well as a partnering fashion label. My education background is consistent with the arts and business. i have certificates from top Uni's such as Harvard and UC Davis in Business fields as well as a pre degree diploma in art from UAL in London. But I'm yet to get an undergrad degree because A) Affordability, B) Undecided on what degree suits me best, C) unsure which degree will actually add more value to my career paths and D) When I was younger, I didn't do so great in school and I have pretty average grades despite all the further education I now have. I've been offered a place at LSE in London on a business management course and I know I should be excited about that but I'm not because my gut is telling me that it's not right for me. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks #business #art #undergraduate #degree

How often should I reach out to my Academic Advisor ?

I think it is a great idea for me to establish great communication with my Academic Advisor so I can keep on taking the necessary course for my degree. Not only that but I have been given great personal and professional advice and resources. I don't want to overstep my boundaries by asking a ton of questions all the time, but I would like to utilize as many resources, advice, and opportunities as my advisor can provide me.

Should I take the Singapore Government Grant for undergraduate studies?

I am a high school student from Bangladesh. I have recently been accepted to Yale-NUS College for the class of 2023. I have an option to take the Government grant that will allow me to pay subsidised fees but I will have to take up a bond to work for 3 years in a Singapore-registered company after my studies. I am interested in pursuing a career in Artificial Intelligence research and I intend to pursue a phd. I have 3 options now: 1) I can take the grant but it will mean that I will have to work for 3 years before pursuing my next studies; 2) I can take student loans instead of the grant and pay them back after getting a job; or 3) I can study in a public university in Bangladesh on a very low cost and then pursue my higher studies abroad. If you recommend to take the grant, can you suggest some companies that I can work with to fulfill my bond with a Bachelor of Science degree and also gain experience that will help me in pursing a career in AI research. Thank you in advance. #college #singapore #ai #artificialintelligence #technology #undergraduate #computer #bachelors #science
