What should I know about a career in social work?

Hi :) I'm considering a career in social work and was wondering what a typical day in the life would look like. How much of it is based in technical aspects like answering emails or personal aspects like physically speaking to a client? What is something I should know if im considering a career in this field. Also is there any way that I could have a better chance at landing a well paying job out of uni? I've heard a lot of horror stories about how bad the pay is and have been trying to see how I can even that out. #spring24 Thank you in advance to whoever you are

What equine degree/college should I pursue?

Ok so I have a few questions: What are some horse careers/jobs that aren’t as well known? What colleges have an emphasis on horsemanship and not just competing/riding? What equine degree is the most general to any horse job (in case I wanna explore different aspects)? Is it okay to go to a college with an emphasis on horses as a slight beginner? I’m definitely not a beginner, but I’m definitely not a horse guru either, so I feel like I’d be behind. . . Right now I’m planning on going to BYU Provo for my required credits than going to a college with an emphasis on horses. . . Is this a good plan? While I’m at BYU should I get a part time job working at a barn? I just want the most experience I can get. Little bit about me if it helps: I’m definitely not the stereotypical cowgirl. I’ve worked at a barn with horses for 4 years, and I have been training this gelding for a bit with my trainer. I have an emphasis on relationship and trust with the horses, bodywork, and training is something I love doing. I’ve never competed, and I’m not sure if I’d be interested in doing so. . . You can tackle any or all questions, thanks for reading!

College classes vs. AP classes?

Ever since I started high school, I always thought taking actual college classes made more sense. However, I’ve begun to wonder if specific selective colleges will look at them differently regarding college applications. I have taken 20 credits at my state university (UMN) and more at my local CC. My school offers multiple AP classes, but I choose college classes because they allow me diverse options of courses each semester. I will graduate from high school with 80+ college credits. Is it possible that I may be at a disadvantage regarding this choice? Will the college review my application and say they want students with AP classes?

What to do career wise after bad uni grades?

I'm a 3rd year CS student and my overall grades for university are disappointing to say the least, and I'm not sure what I should do to progress after I'm done on my course. I don't feel like that grade will be enough to get a good grad job and I'm wondering what can be done to get the foot in the door when it comes to a career which is what I heard really matters. I'm interested in a data science/ software engineering career

What are the best schools for law. I am a sophomore going into my junior year, and I need advice on what colleges I should look into. I also wanted to ask if the University of Chicago is a good school for law and if I should go there because they have been contacting me for a while now.?

Should I email the colleges I am interested in and reach out to their admissions offices early. Also how can I earn scholarships easier. I do online school right now and plan to go back to actual school this coming school year.

What are your thoughts on Rasmussen University?

Its cheaper that the public, 4 year universities that are close to me, and its accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Its tuition is also considerably cheaper. Yet, there's something about it that doesn't feel right. Maybe I'm just biased against private, for-profit universities. What are your thoughts and experiences on Rasmussen University? Is it real, is it a good school, etc.

What langauge courses would be most beneficial to study in university?

Most universities (that I have seen) require a language as a part of your study program. Are there any languages that are preferred by employers or should be considered more (i.e. ASL, Chinese, Spanish..) or can it just be our preference? Thank you! #foreign-languages #university #language #college
