What are some college courses to consider for working abroad?
My dream is to travel the world, but I obviously need a good source of income in order to do that. Writing/editing has always interested me, and so a career doing something similar to that would be great. What majors/careers include both mathematics and visual arts?
I love math, it's my favorite subject in school and I definitely would like to continue with it in the future. However, I don't want to lose the visual design aspect which I also love. I was considering a double major in mathematics and digital communications/multi media (it basically involves things like web design, video production, and stuff like that). Although I couldn't find a digital communications major at the colleges that I'm looking at. I was wondering if anyone knew of similar majors? Also any careers that would use those majors? I have also considered becoming a math teacher because I could still make worksheets, videos, and websites for my classroom but I would like to know what other options I have. Thank you so much! P.S. I was also considering a minor in computer science to tie the two majors together. How do I start in a career?
Hello, I am a recent graduate and I have various skills in design, media, research, and web. Despite this, I am a beginner within all of these fields and I can't tell which career I should enter into or how. A lot of these jobs require a lot of experience. While I am very good and a hardworker, I do not have tons of work experience in one field. Overall, I have only a year of actual working experience. I can't take an unpaid job because of my loans either. The focus of my degree was originally in graphics and communication but I have found that those jobs are not too common in my area and marketing is more common. Any suggestions? As a soon to be graduate is it better to jump straight into large market areas or begin smaller as a freelance designer. A lot of questions I know but I am a sophomore (soon to be junior) Graphic Design student at MICA and I am having a crisis. Ever since I have been home I have not been able to find any internships or work in my field. Nobody wants to hire me for anything at all. I thought I had a strong portfolio and yet I still haven't been able to find nearly anything. On top of that countless people I know have all been telling me the Graphic Design industry is suicide. And that I will not be able to find any stable jobs, get any kind of stable income, or anything like that. And that kids with half the experience or no education will be taking jobs cause people can pay them less. This seems to be all I see online when also viewing things in my major as well.
