What are the best tips to know to become an assistant district attorney?

As embarrassing as this is for me to admit, I have no idea what to do past go to a good law school to get a job like this. Is it impossible to become one after graduating from law school recently (like within three years after having graduated from law school)? I assume experience is needed for a job like this so would working for a law firm or as a public defender (or even both) be the goal jobs before ADA? Any and all advice is welcome and the more specific, the better. Thank you. #law #women-in-law #law-practice

Should I focus only on one area of Law?

I am interested in tax law, family law and very much in immigration law. I noticed that there is not a specialization for immigration law or is there? I only see tax, family, criminal, etc. Is specialization something to think about after becoming a lawyer or during my studies. Do I have to declare a major in law, as when I declared my accounting major? #women-in-law

Other than samples of my writing, what is appropriate to be included in my portfolio and/or resume?

I am an adult-learner entering an entirely new field of employment. I am a paralegal student and am beginning to put together a portfolio. Samples of my writing will be included (case brief, legal memo, client letter, etc.), but I would like to know if it is appropriate for me to include other things, such as an email from my professor complimenting my quality of work, email indicating my inclusion on the school's merit list for academic excellence, and/or scholarship winner? If not included in my portfolio, what about on my resume? #paralegal #paralegals #law #women-in-law #resume #portfolio-management

I am currently a student in the Middlesex Community College, Certificate in Paralegal Studies program and will need to secure an internship for myself in the coming semester. Is Gender and Women's Studies a course that can get me career opportunities right away?

I am currently a year 10 student who is very passionate about law (specifically how culture, tradition, and history has affected the modern legal system). I was thinking (actually my mom and I) of taking this course since my mom said that it was in demand, it suited my talents and skills, and it is a specific field in law. My concern is that I wouldn't be able to find a job after completion of the course and the only way I can study law is by supporting myself. I have already checked on school websites that provide the course and the said job opportunities, however universities only say that because they provide the course and need students to take it. People who finish 'unique' courses rarely get jobs right away because other individuals are highly professional in those fields, leaving the newbies no hope (truth be told). I am also aware that finding a job is not easy and everybody starts off from below, however if I'm going to end up that way until I reach the age of 30 (because of the course I took), I'd totally regret taking the course. I am interested to know about any other pre-law suggestions. #law #career-education #women-in-law
