I am sure I want to be a high school teacher and basketball coach. I am unsure (at this point) what subject I would like to teach, though. Although Spanish was my favorite in high school, journalism was always another topic that seemed like an appealing career as well. Also, as I've been more able to see and understand the election this year, becoming a government or economics teacher sounds interesting as well.

Context: This year I was chosen to be captain of the cross country team, which is something I thoroughly enjoyed. I was able to motivate and teach them, while still being able to laugh and have fun. This is what led me to this decision of wanting to teach and influence kids and become a high school teacher. As for being a basketball coach, I played for 3 years and am completely in love with the sport, and have always loved the idea of being a coach since day one.
College: I have already applied to 8 schools: Sacramento State; San Francisco State; California State University, Monterey Bay; Cal Poly San Luis Obispo; California State University Long Beach; California State University Fullerton; San Diego State; University of Nevada, Reno. I have gotten into 3 so far: San Francisco State; University of Nevada, Reno; and CSU Fullerton.
Other Education: Since I want to be a teacher, I know I would need to receive credentials of some sort. I am not sure of the process behind that though.
Activities: I would definitely love to study abroad. Anywhere on the planet would be extremely amazing and I know I would think of the trip as such a valuable experience for the rest of my life. I would also like to participate in some running club or perhaps an intramural league for basketball, and maybe a sorority.
Job Experience: N/A
Soft Skills: Communication, creativity, self-motivation, leadership, teamwork
Hard Skills: I would love to be at least somewhat fluent in Spanish before going out into any career I choose.

I want to be a interpreter for the deaf and or a psychologist in or around the state of Texas. I want to be able love what I do and do what love.

Context: I am interested in the two above fields due to the fact that I feel emotionally connected to the both of them. I feel like if given the opportunity I can accomplish many great things when given a chance to do these. For me to be able to do either if not both would be amazing. I want to help change the world and to do this would let me fufill that drive to carry out these careers. Both allow me to help someone. To be a Deaf Interpreter I can give someone a voice that they may not be able to use. I can help someone say something. And to be a psychologist allows me to help a person with their emotions in any type of way. I can be someone's shoulder to cry on, that ear they need to listen, that voice of reason and that thought alone helps me sleep at night. And to do that would fill me with something that not very many people get in their lifetime.
College: I would like to get into San Antonio community college because it allows me both opportunities which would be very helpful for me in the fields I want to be in. However, I am not completely sure in the university I'd want to transfer to. I'd love to go to a university that isn't too large, I'd be able to have a relationship with professors, and allows both fields to be accomplished by me. I am considering majoring in psychology for both adults and children. I am also considering Interpretation and translation of American sign language.
Other Education: N/A
Activities: I plan to volunteer at many different organizations around my community, such as the vet, local places, and internships that I may be eligible for. I also try and go to a nearby Starbucks that has an event they host every fourth Friday of the month called a 'Deaf Coffee Chat' where people of the Deaf culture or people willing to learn and appreciate it go to sit, talk and just meet new people, as much as possible. I am in the unity and FCCLA clubs at my high school and enjoyed them both. I want to study more foreign languages and cultures that I do not know at the moment being.
Job Experience: I will intern for or shadow my high school American Sign Language teacher for about and hour and a half every day for my junior and possibly senior year in high school. I will be able to see the way she works and also help students and teach sometimes. I do not have very much experience except for small cleaning jobs I have had through my family and babysitting ages 1-12 or dog sitting many different breeds of dogs.
Soft Skills: Reliable, writing, spelling, English, emotional intelligence, leadership, communication, decision-making, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability, self motivation, patience, perseverance, dedication, Fast learner, and determination.

I want to be a biomedical researcher, specifically in the immuno-genetics field. I would prefer to be in California, because the Silicon Valley technology industry cooperates with medical research often. I would like to work at any major research company.

Context: Since middle school, I've developed a passion for science, specifically biology. I didn't know what field I wanted to go into as a career option until my dad told me about the boom of biomedical research and how important it is. I quickly became interested in the subject and researched specific fields, and I came across immuno-genetics, which interests me.
College: I am considering to go to a Univerisity of California branch, USC, or a different university that emphasizes scientific research. For my desired career, I would like to major in either biomedical science, because that specifically relates to the field of research I want to go into, or biochemistry, because that field also correlates to biomedicine and how we can use those discoveries to promote research.
Other Education: I am almost completely sure that I will go to graduate school to earn a master's degree in immunogenetics.
Activities: I am planning to apply for internships for high schoolers and universities near my home, as well as biomedical research companies. Once I turn 16, I will also be eligible to apply for summer biology programs, which I am interested in in order to learn more about my subject.
Job Experience: As I mentioned above, I am going to apply for an internship at several companies or university labs. I will get there by researching grad students or professors at local colleges who specialize in biomedical research, specifically immunogenetics, and research companies that accept high school interns.
Soft Skills: I believe that being proficient at writing is important for my career, because as a researcher, I will be publishing lots of lab reports on my findings. In addition, responsibility, diligence, patience, and carefulness are all critical to running experiments in the lab smoothly.
Hard Skills: I think that a hard skill to learn for a researcher's career is being able to expertly run experiments without harming or endangering anyone involved.

I want to be working in the computer science industry preferably in the Los Angeles area or the Bay Area (San Francisco) as a secondary choice in location. However, I am also interested in business management. A nice mix of the two, in something such as business analysis would be nice.

Context: Growing up, I always saw my dad working (he was a website developer) and I just thought it was the coolest thing. Around the 5th grade, I started building my own computer. Now, I'm just really interested in working on cool software that makes amazing programs people enjoy.
College: My dream college is UCLA. However, I'm also interested in USC and Pepperdine. I've been into UCLA mostly because it was the golden standard growing up in LA. I do acknowledge it's computer science and business programs may not be #1 but financially it is a good fit for me as well. For USC, they have a good research program that lets you work on current programs that lets you have real experience in the computer science field. Also, they have a good recruitment opportunity, with big companies often giving internship opportunities. For Pepperdine, they have a really good business program (my Uncle went there) that I'm interested in.
Other Education: I plan on getting a Masters degree.
Activities: I've currently been a part of the United States Academic Decathlon program at John Marshall High School. The amount of work required for just making the team let alone competing has given me a good sense of what the college workload is like.
Job Experience: The only previous experience I've had have been volunteering mostly with kids and one other where I did a lot of data entry. I'm hoping to get an internship directly related to my field sometime during the summer (2017) before I start college.
Soft Skills: Some soft skills I have are time management, good relations, leadership, and willingness to learn. I manage time well, planning the day out with Google calendar and just in general, being motivated to get my work done. I'd say I have good relations, as I have been able to work in the past with people who have been "unworkable." I am able to lead any group of individuals as I am not afraid to be the one that steps on other people's toes to get them in line. Finally, my willingness to learn has been evident especially in the past year as I have been unafraid to rely on my peers and ask for help on topics they have been working on for quite some time while I have been only recently exposed to the topic.
Hard Skills: I am fluent in Korean, have basic computer skills, and know basic micro and macro economics.
Other: N/A

Activities: I will be volunteering at my local hospital this summer and I will also be trying to volunteer at our local animal shelter.
Job Experience: N/A
Soft Skills: I have the ability to the ability to handle animals patiently, gently and confidently, the ability to cope with upsetting situations like working with injured or badly treated animals, a willingness to do dirty or unpleasant tasks, and the ability to take responsibility for the duty of caring for the animals.
Hard Skills: I can speak some korean, and my reading and writing skills are higher than most kids my age.
Other: I want to be someone who can be called 24/7 for animal care.
