Aside from starting my undergraduate studies, what additional steps should I be taking to prepare for a career in architecture?

I'm about to graduate from high school, and there was so much information in preparing for college that I would have liked to understand much sooner than I did. With this frustrating experience, I hope to be better prepared in order to make better decisions sooner....
