What is a day like for a civil engineer?

I am asking this question because I do not believe i know what an engineer does fully. I would want to know what they do day by day and how they help with the community.

As a civil engineer, what type of computer interaction do you have. Specifically, do you write your own programs for building designs? Do you work with an interacting 3D designing system? If not either of these options, how do you come up with blueprints?

Civil Engineering is my dream job but I love making computer programs and working with computers. I am very curious as to how much civil engineers work with computers and what that specifically looks like.

Is the field of Civil Engineering really competitive?

I've seen that Civil Engineering is a popular field so I want to know if the field isn't too competitive to find a job. I've heard about some fields becoming over saturated with workers, so does any one predict there being too many workers, but not enough jobs in the future.

Growing up, I have always been told that as a civil engineer, you either draw bridges or perform math calculations to make sure the bridges are able to successfully stand. However, what is it REALLY like in a typical work day? Do you work on indoors computers? Do you work outdoors at construction si

As a civil engineer, what percent of your time would you say per week you spend on site helping to organize construction efforts and people and what percent of your time do you spend in an office making calculation and coming up with designs?

I would love to be a civil engineer one day. I definitely don't want to be a construction worker and spend all day outside working with tools and building things but I also wouldn't want a 10 hour a day desk job. Civil engineer seems like a happy medium and I just wondered from a professional if tha
