Hello Ismael,
I moderated my work to get more rest. The heavy work of writing nutrition education software was largely done in 2023, so I have not had to work 100 hours a week. Now it is more like 30 hours a week.

Hi Ismael,
I'm a manager at IBM, so my typical day will be different than others.
I manage a team of 14 people who build, test, and support firmware. The people are my most important responsibility: I need to do whatever I can to enable them best do their job and work together inside and outside the department.
I assess, award, and assist the team in order to deliver quality firmware on the schedule required.
There is a lot of administrative work and some red tape, but I try to focus on the good things to make sure I do my best for my people.
Day to day work is different all the time, so it's hard to say exactly what is done but I use the tools provided to get the results needed.

Hi Ismael, I am an aircraft mechanic, so my experience might be a little bit different than other mechanic industries, but I'll offer what insight I can.
In the commercial aviation industry, maintenance typically happens at night, so most jobs will be 2nd shift (2-10pm, roughly) or 3rd (10pm-6am). 1st shift will usually be occupied by the most senior technicians. Most places I have worked offer a 4 day, 10 hour schedule, usually covering one weekend day. A typical shift will begin with a team meeting where we get an overview of the work for the shift, before work is assigned to each tech. From there, I go and do the assigned task until its completed, mostly working alone but there are always other techs around to help, if I need. If I complete the task early, I go and get another one. Most of the time, I will finish work early and after cleaning my tools and the work area, there is some time to hang out and chill with my coworkers. All in all, I love the vibe and I think it's an extremely rewarding career.

I then review the blueprints to check for any updates or alterations related to the piece I'll be working on. After that, it's all about getting down to business and starting the assembly process. Some days, I might be crafting smaller components that will eventually be incorporated into a larger piece the following day.
Lately, my focus has been on creating and refining programs for a robotic welder. I test these programs on sample pieces, with the ultimate goal of developing a system capable of executing actual production welding. Each day typically presents a fresh challenge or task to tackle.
