How do you keep from overloading yourself?

I am worried that when I register for my classes that I'm going to take too many hard classes and not make the grades I want or possibly even fail.

Hello Cade,

I think you are unduly worried too much about the unforeseen events that are yet to unfold, why? This fear of unknown will take you nowhere but keep you occupied endlessly. This is not the way to help yourself but be brave and face the challenge and 'catch the Bull by horn'!

There is a saying in Commando training school in India : When going gets Tough, Tough gets going! I never believed till I went thorough toughest time in my life during the course. The challenges were not only physical but it was all about psychological. It is aimed to push you to the limits of all kinds and push the boundary further and further. Every moment you feel that you are gone, but you continue....endlessly and then one day you pass out with flying colors, it gives such a sweeter test of success and an unshakable faith in your own capabilities is developed for the lifetime.

In your case, what worst can happen to you? At the most, you may fail! So what? Life is all about hits and misses! Remember: Failures are the pillars of Success! Hope you know the story of President Lincoln : he lost all the elections he fought in life except the one and that was for the highest office of the USA and he made it. He changed the fate of millions. Gandhi didn't become Gandhi in one shot, he too had many failures in life but he kept on moving on the path of 'Truth and Non-Violence' and ultimately , he won!

You may say, it is easier said than done, specially with studies! Well, in my personal life, I had also many failures even failing in class ninth in mathematics but that didn't deter to take mathmatics and physics at graduation level. So, you have to overcome this 'Fear of Unknown'!

Least you can do is to take a plunge and taste the waters: is it salty or not? Even if you fail in that attempt, you will rise again and climb like a spider which fails numerous times but makes it on the same slander thread over which it slips down. So Rise and Shine!Have faith in yourself. I would like to quote Swami Vivekananda's famous lines:

" Faith! Faith! Faith in yourself!

"Faith! Faith in God!"

What it means that if you have faith in you, god (if you believe) is bound to come for help! Same has been spoken by Paulo Koelho in "The Alchemist".

and lastly another quote of Swami Vivekananda:

" Arise! Awake and Stop Not till you achieve the Goal!"

All the very Best!
